The fairly final beta from release 10.5 for the IB2/IBP/IBS.

With new WiFi drivers and much more. If you’re interested, you can install it. The general rollout is certainly not far away.

    hello @5018

when will the ib3 be available? I’m waiting for the dhcp option 😎.

    Greetings René

ps is there anything new with the wifi box 2? My box from the pilot has a much more current firmware than the one I recently bought.

Is DHCPv6 prefix delegation now possible?

If your question relates to the release notes:

    • New WLAN driver for improved performance and more stability
    • Firewall rules can be configured for individual devices
    • DNS server (e.g. PI-Hole) can be configured via DHCP option 6 in the DHCP settings
    • Infomaniak can be configured as a Dyn DNS provider
    • Fewer restrictions on choosing device names
    • Traffic under Diagnostics for customers with a Internet-Booster appears stacked
    • Supports sunrise/sunset rules and voice assistant improvements for the Smart Home skill. Users can turn entire rooms on or off
    • New DECT base station software
    • Various bug fixes and security improvements

No: The DHCP option 6 (The DHCP server specifies one or more specific legacy IP DNS servers directly to the DHCP clients) does not correspond to the DHCPv6-PD

So that’s how far I’m going to lean out 🙂

@Alitai @First of all, I don’t understand enough of the technical details and can therefore only say something in principle.

No, you will not be able to use IPv6-PD in the Swisscom network as native IPv6 is required. We are working on this and a big step towards this was that the so-called BNGs on the network were renewed in 2020 and the new ones can do that. But I don’t know a current schedule for the native IPv6 introduction. It’s there when the time comes. But it is a major effort because adjustments are also necessary in the data centers (services, firewalls, etc.).

However, the IBs support the function. The function is only hidden because it cannot be used at the moment. As soon as native IPv6 is available, the function will also be activated.

Hope this helps you, even though it may not be the answer you would have liked.

Where is this option hidden in the GUI of version 10.05.38?
    A screenshot would be perfect

With an IB3 (with the IB2 it will be analogous) the option can be found in the network settings under IP address distribution:

      hey @Swisscom

How long do we “normal mortals” have to wait until this function, which I know has been promised for a long time, finally comes to the ib3? It can’t be that a new function is rolled out to older devices first.

      Greetings René

      Found. Thanks!

Unfortunately, that’s only half the battle 🤔

My use case is PI-Hole as a web blocker.

However, I don’t want to use PI-Hole as a DNS server for all devices (e.g. not TV, but mobile devices / PCs do).

What I would like to have would be configurable DNS options per DHCP configured device.

      @rene.borer:

The roll-out of the new firmware for the IB3 will start in the next few weeks. We will release the version as a beta in the next few days.

        hey MichelB

I updated my ib3 to 11.01.28 today. DNS server via dhcp still cannot be entered. is this a broken/incomplete beta or what am I doing wrong? Cleared browser cache and tried chrome and edge…

          hello @Tux0ne

is always active 😎😂. Even restarting the box didn’t help.

I think I will now definitely run the dhcp server on pi-hole. pi-hole and wireguard are already running. I can now manage no-ip client too. and I also have a Samba release under control. The temptation for a zisa-g.fast modem is getting bigger and bigger…

😂 Basically it’s just a slider without any actual statement with a few more settings that appear.

But if you’ve already gotten this far with this idea and you want to go further, you can also dispose of the Pi straight away.

If you are ready for bare metal with VMs and you want to change provider straight away, please feel free to contact me 😉
