HTC 5G Hub

  • Hello, I got an HTC 5G hub, the only problem is that I don’t get 5G with the Swisscom SIM card (multidevice SIM) Premium Speed Active.

The region is so developed and the reception with the Sunrise Sim works perfectly, but I would like to use the Swisscom Sim 🙂 I don’t know what the problem is… does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance

    • The hub only supports the N78 band, i.e. 5G+

Are you sure that Swisscom also sends N78 in your region or location and not just N1 5G wide 😴?

    Hello everyone

Unfortunately I cannot provide any information about this device as I have never had one in my hand. However, there are manufacturers who limit the use of 5G to certain networks. Unfortunately, I cannot judge whether this is the case with HTC (or this product).

    Best regards, Ruben

    Hello everyone,

I have an HTC 5G hub and despite having a 5G subscription and a new SIM card, I only get 4G/4G+. Although I live in an area where 5G/5G+ is available and my iPhone 12 Pro also shows 5G. What kind of problem could that be?

    Thanks and greetings

The HTC 5G Hub has the following radio card installed Snapdragon™ X50 5G modem:

    4G LTE (US)

    · FDD: Bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 25, 26, 66, 71

    · TDD: Volume 41

5G NR band: n41 -> supported by Swisscom? If yes, where/in which area?

    4G LTE (Australia)

    · FDD: Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 28, 66

    · TDD: Bands 38, 41

5G NR band: n78 -> supported by Swisscom? If yes, where/in which area?

    Thanks

As written in previous posts, the HTC Hub only supports N78 from Swisscom.

Swisscom currently uses band N1 (5G) and N78 (5G+). The HTC Hub also has the first generation 5G chip from Snapdragon in it.

So you will only be able to enjoy 5G reception in well-covered 5G+ areas.

Hello there is some news here - I also have an HTC 5G hub and live in Wichtrach where it has 5G+. but the thing only shows 4G…. and then I tested the HTC in Münsingen where I have a download with the iPhone of 1.8 GB… but the HTC only has 4G!?!?! funny? What could be the reason - I can no longer do a SW update on the HTC - it has the latest SW on it.

One can only speculate as to what the problem is. In particular, there were earlier manufacturers who restricted or restricted the use of 5G. You can’t expect any miracles from this device, especially when it comes to speed. It is old, probably EOL (End of Life) and has a first-generation 5G modem from Qualcomm installed, where the speed is limited anyway, 5G or not.

Yes, it’s clear that it’s a very old thing. But it has 5G… It’s a shame it doesn’t work. At Swisscom there are always only nice people on the phone. Who often have no technical knowledge. Therefore this cannot be clarified. It’s actually a shame. Now I have to throw it away and generate waste again.

Well, unfortunately that’s how it is.

Probably bought too early - before established and mature…
