Yes, I can imagine that not everyone is capable of doing that. I rely on WiFi calling because I have terrible network coverage at home. That’s why I didn’t want to send the Honor back immediately.

For me, however, it also detracts from the otherwise very positive impression of the Magic 6 pro. The question is whether I have to run this again after every update.

There is a workaround to enable the “Wifi calling” or “VoWifi” option. It takes a little patience and two different apps (Shizuku and Pixel IMS, both available in the Play Store) as well as a PC to connect the smartphone. The ADB tool must be installed on this.

Proceed:

1. Download and unzip SDK Platform Tools (PC): SDK Platform Tools
2. Install Shizuku App from Play Store: Shizuku App
3. Install Pixel IMS from the Play Store (do not open yet!): Pixel IMS
4. Enable USB debugging on the Android device:
   1. Settings
   2. Over the phone
   3. Press “Build number” approx. 7 times in quick succession (activates developer mode)
   4. back to Settings
   5. System & Updates
   6. Developer Options
   7. Enable USB debugging
5. Connect the device to the computer
6. Select “Exchange data” during the connection
7. Open Terminal (CMD) or Powershell window
8. Navigate to the folder into which the SDK Platform Tools was previously unpacked (e.g. cd /User/Desktop/Tools)
9. Enter the following command: adb shell sh sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/start.sh or for Powershell:.\db shell sh sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/ start.sh
10. Start the Shizuku app on the Android device. This should now have started.
11. Start Pixel IMS
12. Allow the app to access Shizuku
13. Activate VoWifi in the Pixel IMS app
14. Restart device
15. The function should now be able to be activated in mobile data.

The procedure worked perfectly on my Honor Magic 6 pro.
