@rbisig As a rule (99%) the update takes place in the communicated week. However, with well over half a million updates, it can sometimes not work for a variety of reasons. But these boxes should also be updated in the next few days (max. 1-2 weeks). Otherwise we are almost done with the migration.
Unfortunately, I don’t know where and how I can get in touch.
The problem relates to the new update for the tv box (Android/Google).
- Unfortunately, every time I start it up again, I get the message that current data is being loaded. It is extremely annoying and takes a long time. I have tried a lot, but unfortunately without success. In any case, it can’t go on like this.
- Question: what can I do to prevent this, or can I undo the update?
- Thank you very much for your kind reply, Rolf
Quote from earlier in this thread:
If you want the box to be ready almost immediately after switching on, you would need to enable sleep mode. Energy saving mode is active by default:
1. Press Home on the remote control
2. Navigate to the top left on the cogwheel and press OK
3. Navigate to TV Box at the top and press OK
4. Select Save energy at the bottom and press OK
5. Select Sleep mode at the top and press OK
6. Select the Sleep modes (Recommended) checkbox and activate with OK.
7. Select Save at the bottom and save with the OK button.
It should now be much quicker to switch on.

Hi Wumamaud22
Hibernation can only help if the box is connected to continuous power. Otherwise, as far as I know, there is unfortunately no way to speed up the process.

Wumamaud22 The issue occurs when I switch on the box/TV at the power strip.
A cold start from a de-energised state takes longer, this is absolutely normal and cannot be changed. In sleep mode without power interruption, the box is ready after a few seconds.
You could leave the TV box connected to the mains, the electricity saving is not worth the hassle and waiting time. There are certainly more efficient ways to save electricity in the home.
The box is then ready more quickly and is automatically updated during the night. This means you will have fewer problems in the long term.

Just figured out how to run SRF play through the box, now it won’t work. Great update, thanks!
Remote control still permanently loses contact, contact with support impossible!
Offer far too expensive, service not suitable, a cheek!
Unfortunately they don’t release the gas line for third-party providers, otherwise I would have left long ago!

I assume you don’t mean “gas line”, but “fibre optic line”, i.e. a fibre optic connection?
If so, I have never heard that third-party providers are not available on a Swisscom FTTH connection, because the Competition Commission even explicitly stipulates by law that Swisscom may not monopolise the connection for Swisscom subscriptions alone.
So what exactly do you mean by “no third-party providers possible”?

Just found out how to run SRF-Play through the box, now it doesn’t work anymore.
After the update, HbbTV has to be activated again:
Blue-TV Home -> Cogwheel -> TV and Radio -> Interactive TV -> Enable HbbTV -> Save
After switching on the function or switching to the corresponding channel, a little patience is required until the red button works. The information for HbbTV is sent with the picture, which takes some time (as with teletext in the past). As soon as the information is available, a message is displayed at the bottom right of the TV. HbbTV or the red button can then be used.
Remote control still permanently loses contact

Autocorrect, fibre optic connection of course!
I built a new house three years ago, had cablecom for 20 years before that, but didn’t want to install coax. I didn’t want to install coax any more.
Cablecom told me they couldn’t do it, so I cancelled it. Of course I still have the Cablecom connection in the rack, but I’m done with that.
When I wanted to take out a subscription with Salt, they told me they couldn’t get the line, the same thing when I asked a fortnight ago.
Probably a case for the Competition Commission.

Have you ever checked your address at Jungle Compass?
So at least Teleboy, Wingo and iWay would certainly have very attractive offers for you, so nothing to do with no options for third-party providers, whereby Wingo is not a third-party provider at all, but merely the discount brand of Swisscom itself.
