Swisscom’s statement is that the BMW personal eSIM only works with private subscriptions.
The fact that it doesn’t work with business subscriptions means it works as designed.
It would of course be very desirable if this finally worked with business subscriptions and all customers could use it.
According to the comments, there is a clear customer need here.
The BMW Personal eSIM is currently not available for Geschäftskunden subscriptions. It was planned to implement this in 2024. However, the planning had to be adjusted so that implementation this year is no longer realistic. The BMW Personal eSIM can currently only be used with private customer subscriptions.
Interesting…
I have a inOne KMU mobile premium and the Cars&Mobilities option activated. (The extra CHF 10 costs…)
Telephoning in the BMW via eSIM works - only with the data connection is it a thing, works, doesn’t work, works, doesn’t work again, mostly not…
There is also the eSIM reader, but it works even worse! Interestingly, telephony AND data work perfectly with Sunrise and the reader…
Should the SME be seen as a private subscription or is the private eSIM something independent of Cars&Mobilities?
To my knowledge, there are only around 10 operators worldwide that support BMW Personal eSIM (see [BMW FAQ on Personal eSIM](https://faq.bmw.co.uk/s/article/Personal-eSIM-Country-availability- Zgolb?language=en_GB “BMW FAQ”)). In Switzerland this is only supported by Swisscom.
I have a Natel Go subscription via my employer and despite the fact that I’ve read about these subscriptions to be supported sometime in 2024, still being told that I cannot have it. Really disappointed.
