myCloud App download all photos

  • Hello,

I had to reset my smartphone. I uploaded all photos to MyCloud before the reset.

How can I re-download all photos at once? I just see that I can select all of them per month, but not all at once. Am I too stupid or is the app incomprehensible?

    Greetings

      Hello everyone

I asked the myCloud specialists again directly for you:

Unfortunately, there is currently no export function for all photos on the smartphone. However, we are happy to take this as feedback and forward it to the responsible team. To download the photos/files from your myCloud account, we recommend using [www.mycloud.ch](https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mycloud.ch%2F& data=04%7C01%7CAdmin.Forum%40swisscom.com%7C7775825b987e484b34dc08d96d577da4%7C364e5b87c1c7420d9beec3 5d19b557a1%7C0%7C0%7C637661044791573282%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiL CJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=AXKAsXDqsgEWm0xbqXgR0nBRV96Ld13mE9lKgqpbFjE%3D&reserved=0) to export.

WebDav Clients – myCloud - Help
In order to access myCloud via WebDav you need a WebDav-enabled client. This is software on your computer or smartphone that enables access. Windows and macOS provide their own client. Here you will find the instructions for using the Windows and the [macOS](https:/ /help.mycloud.ch/hc/de/articles/360010310540-WebDav-f%C3%BCr-macOS) clients.

How fast and stable WebDav works depends very much on the client used.

If you have problems with stability and speed, we recommend using specialized software. There are many free and paid offers on the Internet.

    Hi @MIT90

Neither, that is simply unusable/not intended at this point. I had the same problem a few months ago and haven’t found a useful solution yet (but I didn’t look for it for long; cell phone photos aren’t quite as valuable to me. And they’re not gone, they’re still there in the cloud and can be used when needed they are specifically downloaded locally_).

The article will be brand new!

Now that Swisscom has just announced that MyCloud will be chargeable, some users will certainly want to download their images in their entirety. The new offer is also recommended as a backup.

Can we expect a good export feature soon? Yes, I know - there are “only” users in the forum…

    thanks in advance

…yes, I have also started deleting pictures/videos that I definitely no longer need. This has the advantage that I can go through all the pictures quickly. I have to say, due to the automatic upload, a lot of rubbish was of course uploaded.😀

Regarding the changes to the cost structure at myCloud: I am not fundamentally against sharing the costs of cloud storage space. I would just appreciate that current and long-standing customers are offered a “free offer” (which should actually be included in the other costs) of a reasonable size. I’m thinking about 100 GB. (see thread about the new offer)

    Why download?

myCloud is intended as a backup and the originals should still be available somewhere else, right?

    @hed
Of course, I saved all the photos on 2 external HDs of different brands and stored them in two different locations.

I want to download because I have created a lot of self-created albums from our trips, which I view via Swisscom TV and appreciate being able to show my photos wherever I need to.

So that I can now specifically delete/download either albums or photos in order to get well below the 100GB limit, a convenient download/editing option would make sense. I imagine that, for example, the album Reise XYZ 2016 could be downloaded completely intact. It is also clear to me that in the automatic (or manual) albums the individual images are not physically present, but are simply referenced. That’s why I want an appropriate solution…

Yes, why? Ev. precisely because of that? And because you don’t feel like paying extra for it and therefore have to limit the data?

I haven’t read through all the answers and maybe I’ll repeat one of them, but I did it like this yesterday: created a new album called “all photos”. Then I was able to select all the photos (on the old Android smartphone). Afterwards I was able to download the entire album - but on the Mac. but it took a very long time. over 77GB..

    Show original language (German)

    @Mama2021 I have a question:
I also created the “all photos” album in MyCloud. HOW were you able to move or copy all the photos into this album? When I open MyCloud in the WebClient, I don’t see an option anywhere to mark “all photos”. (I have over 16000 images…)
    Greetings and thanks

@wändi have now tested it again. I really don’t know how I managed that. Do you have another Android smartphone where you can log in to the app? Because there you can select one with your thumb, stay on it and pull it down. or select every month.

    @Mama2021

I’m an Eiphoenler and I didn’t find the function you described.

I’m currently downloading (to the PC) ⅓ of my photo storage from MyCloud = around 30 GB with an average speed of just under 1.5 MB/sec, which results in a download time (projected) of just over 5 hours.

If everything works and the files open properly, I’ll get back to you with instructions, so maybe someone will be happy to follow suit.

    Greetings and happy sunshine

@wändi I feel for you… I downloaded 77 GB of this on the PC yesterday. Yes, I didn’t find it on the iPhone either. I couldn’t even put my finger down there. Since I only recently switched to the iPhone, I was “lucky” enough to mark everything relatively quickly with the old Samsung.

The mark all item really needs to be integrated into the My Cloud. Well, the aera My Cloud is done for me.

    Show original language (German)

Sorry, I’m a bit late, but it might still help. If you want to keep the album structures, we recommend downloading the individual albums first and then downloading the remaining photos/videos via “[Albums](https://www.mycloud. swisscom.ch/#photos/albums) > In no album”.

Within “In no album” you have the option of selecting one photo/video and then all photos/videos which are not saved in an album using the “Select all” option visible in the “blue bar”.

Otherwise, if you don’t need the albums, you can delete them first and then use “Albums > [In no album](https:/ /www.mycloud.swisscom.ch/#photos/virtual-albums/not-in-album)” mark/download all photos & videos.

    Show original language (German)

So, I have now downloaded all my photos and videos from MyCloud. Total duration: 8h 05 minutes for just over 90 GB. Of course I haven’t deleted any pictures from MyCloud yet.

This means I can now decide in peace whether I will stay with MyCloud in January/February 2022, build my own NAS or switch to a third-party provider.

What speaks for Swisscom is the fact that the photos and albums can be viewed and shared very easily via Swisscom TV, the Swisscom app, etc. This is certainly a “goodie” that sets SC apart. I’ve already written elsewhere that a paid subscription doesn’t bother me, but that I’m simply annoyed that existing customers are “pushed” to 10 GB.

For everyone who also wants to download everything, a few tips:

    • Check where the download folder is. In most cases this goes to the system drive C:
Is there still enough space available here? If not, put the download folder on another hard drive. It makes sense to have an SSD so that no more time is lost (please see Microsoft Help for information on how to move the download folder)

    • I did an analysis of the images in MyCloud Web and found that I had saved over 16,000 photos and videos from 2010 - 2021. In order not to download everything at once and risk crashing the story, I created the following albums (on MyCloud Web):
      Photos 2021 - 2019
      Photos 2018 - 2017
      Photos 2016 - 2010

In these albums I clicked on the months from the “Photos” tab and inserted the selected images into the corresponding albums (note: the images are not physically moved, but linked to the “original files” in photos).

    • I then downloaded these annual albums individually. It took me a little over 8 hours to complete all the albums!

    • The albums are now in the Download folder. Here you can “unzip” them - but oh my horror, they can’t be opened.

    • That’s why I created the same album (folder) structure on an external hard drive and copied (not moved) the individual files from the download folder to the external hard drive.

    • The pictures and videos on the external hard drive could be opened and played without any problems. Here I simply clicked on some random pictures and videos and checked whether they were OK.

    • Only now have I deleted the ZIP files in the download folder and moved the download folder back to the original drive (please see Microsoft Help for information on how to move the download folder)

By the way, in the meantime @dont_p4nic has described a way to download it. But the enormous amount of time required must also be taken into account here.

    Greetings wändi
