Availability of AVM Fritzbox 5530 XGS-PON Fiber in Switzerland

  • Hello dear community,

I am writing to you about the availability of the AVM Fritzbox 5530 -fritzbox-5530-fiber/)) in Switzerland.

According to information from AVM, Swisscom is now in the process of certifying these (unfortunately not yet on the [BBCS Proved Equipment List (valid from January 1st, 2021)).](https://www.swisscom.ch/dam/swisscom/en /ws/documents/E_BBCS-Documents/e_bbcs_supporting-documentproved-equipment.pdf)

Does anyone from Swisscom know when this box will be released?

Thank you very much and greetings.

    • Giegioflion78 and foobar like that.
    • Für die Nutzung der AVM Fritz! 5530 XGS-PON sollte die folgende Vorgehensweise beachtet werden:

MAC abfragen (Muss(!) vom Anwender erledigt werden)

      FritzBox: MAC-Adresse herausfinden - so geht’s - CHIP

      Pairing (Hotline Swisscom)

Menü von der FRITZ! Box auswählen (Muss(!) vom Anwender erledigt werden)

      Swisscom FTTH DHCP

Webseite aufrufen (Muss(!) vom Anwender erledigt werden)

      https://2.swisscom.ch/start

Eingabe von (Muss(!) vom Anwender erledigt werden)

      • Logindaten von Swisscom
      • Seriennummer - siehe Willkommensschreiben
      • OTO-ID mit Plug

      WICHTIG

Den folgenden Dienst unterstützt die Hotilne von Swisscom kostenlos:

      Pairing

*** Alle anderen Hilfen sind KOSTENPFLICHTIG ***

    Exactly, as soon as…

Would almost certainly be one of the first to own a 5530 😉

In addition to “zyxel ax7501-b0”, “huawei hn8255ws” and of course the IB3 whatever version.

    I even have a Fritz!Box 5490 to give away.

Thanks for the info. According to this page at Init7 the Fritzbox 5530 is only recommended for P2P, i.e. not P2MP (XGS-PON).

I also heard that XGS-PON connections cannot be ordered from any non-Swisscom provider at the moment.

There are complaints to the ComCo from some providers against Swisscom.

This thing seems to be getting complicated for XGS-PON customers.

Does anyone have more information about this? Greeting

10 Gbit/s consumer connections in Switzerland are, afaik, always XGS-PON

At least at Salt there is 10Gbit internet and also at iway.ch (list is not exhaustive)

    ….keep on rockin'

I’ll revise my statement that I will own an FB 5530.

    For whatever… The IB3 can do that…

I’m currently in the fortunate position of having a P2P (Plug1) and a P2MP (Plug2) on the OTO.

It would be interesting to be able to have a 10Gig or better 100Gig P2P Anschluss at the moment…

    Irony off 😉

    Hello everyone

Does anyone know whether the Fritz!Box 5530 now works on an XGS-PON? Got it today and set the VLAN ID to 10. But unfortunately no connection is established. She would have the certification.

Regardless of which router it is, you have a Swisscom Abo for your Anschluss, VLAN ID 10 is not enough anyway, then you also have to set up DHCP option 60 correctly.

You can find the values required for this here:

Fritz boxes can usually do this, so probably your model can too.

I don’t have a “frit” myself, but reading the manual or using Google for research provides further information…

Unfortunately you can only set the VLAN ID and the PBit, nothing more is possible.

I have now inserted { class_identifier = “100008,0001,AVM”; into etherencapcfg using the FBEditor.

      But it doesn’t work either.fritz5530.JPG

I assume that you would have to have the FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON module, but this is not included in the scope of delivery. However, only the AON and GPON module are included in the scope of delivery.

@Stefan-zh It’s not done with just an XS-GPON module; the driver for the XS-GPON module must also be present in the router. It is also very important that the module can communicate with the Huawei equipment.
