IMAPS.bluewin.ch does not support password authentication???

  • My older iPhone SE (2018/ iOS 14) has a problem with Apple Mail - I can’t set up a new Bluewin account. Others yes.

Meöldung after providing your name, email address and (correct) password:

The IMAP server “imaps.bluewin.ch” does not support password authentication. Check your account settings. I’ve been doing this for 40 minutes…

On all other devices and iPad and Mac it works…??

    Who can help?

Data roaming and mobile ice settings in the system are all correct.

If it works with Apple Mail on the Mac and iPad, it shouldn’t be because you don’t use an app password, otherwise it would cause problems there too.

Have you ever tried to activate the device via WLAN?

Are you abroad when you mention roaming here?

And restarting the device doesn’t help either?

After trying for a long time it worked. I suspect a hiccup after updating the older SE to iOS 14 minutes before.

Now it works. Why… I don’t know. but thank you.

The problem is the misleading error message. The only thing that was wrong for me was the password. With the correct password, the supposedly unsupported authentication using a password was suddenly supported after all…

    Ciao to the group…!

Unfortunately, I share the problem - and all the tips I’ve researched so far haven’t worked.

Error message that password authentication is not supported.

You write that you need your own password? Where exactly should I create this?

I can’t get any further with the mail account or the Swisscom login.

    Thank you…
