New reward system in the community!

Hello dear community user

There is now a new reward system in the Swisscom Community. This replaces the existing one, which linked ranks and badges in a non-transparent manner. Finally something simple.😊

Badge_Examples.png

What’s new?
As a Swisscom Community user, you have now been assigned to a level.
You will also receive special badges for special achievements.

How do I advance to the next level?
If you perform within the following points, we will reward you with promotion to the next level.

  • New topics created
  • Posts written
  • Solutions written
  • Get likes
  • Give likes

On your profile page you can see what achievements you still have to achieve in order to advance to the next level.

If you have any questions or are unclear, please feel free to contact us: admin.forum@swisscom.com

@Chips

If you want to look at the respective profile, you can also see the level of the SUs that they would have based on the badges.

By the way, would you find the term “mentor” better or worse instead of “super user”?

Or would it be better to abolish the term altogether?

@Werner

I learned something: there are 26 SUs. Or?
As I see. You can be SU at any level (even just 4). How?
What do you mean by “mentor”?
(according to Duden:
a. Advocate, sponsor, experienced advisor b. experienced educator)
and why abolish it?

Great thing! Does the Super User come after level 99? 😉

Who knows🤭

Maybe there will be more information about this in the near future…

And where is the democratic UnLike button?

In every vote you can vote yes or no or abstain from voting. Why isn’t this also possible here in the forum?

A lot of things are possible, but we consciously decided against it.

We (users, SUser, etc.) have been starting to think about what it could be like, what it would be like, or what it should be like for 10 years.

But just…

Those responsible for this forum, sorry community, don’t have to answer to us users, but to their superiors.

Accordingly…further discussions are unnecessary

However, those responsible and their superiors also depend on the users. Because without members there is no community. There is something called “give and take”.

Yes, exactly. That’s how it used to be…

@hed For the next level I would have to give 1450 likes somehow. I already have all the other requirements, probably also for the level after that. Very useful. These likes don’t make the community better, they just make it stupider. In the spirit of gamification, I’m now looking for the 1450 stupidest posts and like them…. 😂

😉 I’m also currently “analyzing” the new rating system. It’s exciting how it feels right now. Now everyone can see where you stand and what needs to be done to keep moving up.

@Tux0ne just catches the system. If you now distribute likes “like wildly”, the goal of the system has already been achieved 😉

The system is actually better than the old one and also clearer… However, does it miss the mark a bit, doesn’t it? I mean it’s not a video game where the goal is to get to the endgame (😉😂) - the goal is to help others, right?

However, I have to say, the profile page looks much nicer - it would be great if this design would be incorporated a little more into the other pages of the community…

    @DomiP

I actually don’t understand the system anymore.
SU’s also belong to a level (which is no longer displayed) but can be viewed.
What does a level 4 have to do to become SU?

Nevertheless, I’m happy that the satisfaction query has disappeared!

@Jean-Pierre_Feron As I understand it, every SU has a level like you and me. Both of us are currently level 6 - for example, @kaetho is at level 8 and @Werner is at level 10.

As far as becoming an SU is concerned, I understood it to mean that you cannot become a super user directly through your level. A super user is someone who is selected by the moderators at regular intervals. I don’t know the criteria for this, but as @ThomasS said, there will be “information” about this soon.

    So let’s be excited 😁

Once a year a list of candidates is presented where you as a SU can give your opinion on whoever wants. I have abstained from it in recent years. tl;dr or something.

As a rule, users are introduced who actively participate in the community. Now mainly in answering live chats on topics that have long since been solved and answered countless times. Because this is no longer a forum where those seeking help have to do a minimum of their own work, but instead are directed wherever they go and can simply throw a question into the room and it will be “answered”.

The suggested users must now also be very sympathetic to Swisscom. So you can shine with your know-how but you won’t be recommended. If anyone feels affected now, yes, that’s right…

But once you’re an SU, your rank is hardly ever denied. It may be that you no longer report and your rank is revoked when you ask. But in the sense of an SU you only have to perform very little. There are some who hardly provide any useful content but are very benevolent or something 😉

There are 29, to be exact, but in 2019 there were three fewer, which is why you see it like this with the badge 🙂

You recognized that correctly, the Superuser rank is not permanently linked to a level. It is assigned manually by us, as happens with moderators or experts, for example. In other words, there are normal levels and, regardless of this, fixed ranks (superuser, moderator, expert, etc.), which override the level display (in the discussion view).

The awarding of the superuser badge is related to various factors, which result from the numbers on the one hand, but also from perceived behavior. We’ll tell you more about this topic in a few weeks, but you’ll still need a little patience.

Thanks for your assessment. We looked at various common systems, based ourselves on them and created what we thought was the most suitable system. The biggest difference to the previous system (apart from the comprehensibility of the ranks) is probably the visibility. The basic functionality has been similar so far.

In the end, some people don’t care about the whole system - and that’s okay, but for others it encourages them to make an active contribution. In addition to the goal of helping others, discussions about content are always exciting, even if there is no actual “problem”.

Who knows, maybe the last badge you’re missing in the new reward system, the “Mega-Super-Liker”, has a completely different effect than it seems at first glance.

I assume that the final ego test of the participant is the hidden “Everything Lost Badge” and when you turn it over the text appears:

"You gambled too high and went off the scale.

To improve further, start again at level 1…"
