This is known and we would have the beginning of 2020

you can now start discussing from when to when “early 2020” lasts…….

but I’m not taking part in that

The beginning of 2020 is January 1st, 2020…😅

It would be better, for example, Communicate in the first quarter of 2020. This leaves some leeway and you can install the update as soon as it is stable.

I prefer it only comes when it runs stable on the UHD box.

Until then, I’ll manage the season programming via TV Air on the iPad. There you can quickly see the season information and the recordings are then available on every TV box.

Hello @whoever & @Rienniegreick19

Sorry, I missed this post when communicating in other threads:

For operational reasons, the rollout of Entertainment OS4 for customers with the UHD-capable box, planned for the end of February, will probably be postponed by a few weeks. We will inform you here as soon as the new rollout date is set. We regret the longer waiting time and ask for your understanding.

Kind regards, Miriam

It’s a shame that things keep communicating and then being postponed. First it was called the beginning of the year, then the end of February, now it has been postponed by a few weeks. I have higher expectations at Swisscom (I’m impatient) 🙂

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, Swisscom has never taken the promised data seriously. It’s better to make a promise and make it hot so that people don’t leave! Who is surprised when a few weeks turn into months…

@Pofreuso56

Well, I wouldn’t generalize like that. In the past, updates were usually delivered on schedule. Yes, unfortunately that’s not the case this time. But I think it’s better to have a “clean” update than an update that is already full of errors and problems. There are always delays in updates from all companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Upc etc. or do you think that there have never been any delays with other companies and manufacturers?

@Samsi I have the feeling that there are those who don’t understand this or don’t want to understand it….

There are updates that have already been postponed for several months and the device was not usable at that time! Then you get upset about an update that only makes minimal changes to the functioning TV-Box… I sometimes don’t understand.

I don’t think you understand anything. Swisscom TV is probably the best digital TV I know. But as a leader, you shouldn’t make announcements like others that are then postponed several times. An (advance) announcement with an undefined start date would simply be more honest, that’s all.

I don’t want to discuss it any further with you, but I know very well what you’re talking about since I work in SW/development myself…

But honestly - what makes your TV experience so much better with EOS4? The telly is still square and a TV picture is displayed…

mhm, right.

don’t think so. At first it was just called “beginning of the year”.

Unfortunately, the information is not enough for most people. Then there are always the questions “when exactly will it happen” etc.

As a company you feel under pressure to give a date.

and unfortunately no one accepts an announcement like “Yeah, you’ll get the new OS at some point this year.”

more honest, not necessarily. You have already set an approximate date for yourself.

You could inform like this:
“The update is expected to be installed at the end of March”
