Mitel 430, set up SIP

Hello, I would like to use my 2 landline numbers on my Mitel desk phones. Unfortunately I can’t find a solution that works.

Overview:

inOne KMU Office

2x landline (I have SIP creds)

Mitel 430 Release 3.0

I would like not to log in to the router because I would like to replace it with a pfSense router soon. It should be possible to use SIP login data. Would I have to release ports or something similar?

Hey, I haven’t put a 430 into operation yet with the SIP cred.. of a inOne. Because you can simply use ISDN (S-BUS) here. In particular, you still have a 3.0 system. There is certainly an ISDN card in it.

Basically, I claim that you can register the system in the same way as a DX800 device.

Do you really want to replace the router or hang the pfsense behind it as a firewall?

The SIP Cred. You are embarrassed by the Swisscom router. 🙂

Regarding ports. As long as you don’t have pfsense yet, you don’t need to make any special adjustments. After that, things like SIP and RTP ports certainly need to be taken into account.

I also claim that your SIP data does not match those of Swisscom. Take a look at the DX800 instructions, you can find them on Google. Version 4 should be about the latest.

Further information:

With the 430 on this software version, fine configuration via a web browser is a bit difficult anyway. Because there is still the official configuration tool here. You would certainly like a software update.

Hello Hitch

You can obtain SIP credentials from Swisscom. You can also log in to these outside of the home network. Even if the router is offline… So it works on the cell phone with a SIP client… But now it doesn’t work on the PBX.

What do you mean “you can just use ISDN”?

I have already set up a DX800A. Sip data entered and it worked… I’ll take a look at more about it. Maybe I missed something.

Yes, of course I would now use the CB2 for testing… Then I would like to completely replace it with a hardware firewall. With pfsensr or OPnsense.

It also has an advantage. With your own router with FTTH you can get 250 Mbit/s more bandwidth for free. So a total of 1.25 Gbit/s. I’ve already tested it out.

How do I get an update for this system? I am a trainee telematics technician at Swisscom and I do not receive any test licenses myself.

Greetings Aaron

Hey 🙂

So, forget about ISDN. If you then want to remove the router anyway.

Software: You can’t get the new software just like that, unless you have a valid software assurance, then I can help you.

I still maintain that the SIP data for the devices is on the router, since you also need the SIP data from the router for the DX800, or the password can be changed on it, for example.

I somehow have the feeling that the SIp data is not correct. Since with an inOneKMU the user name also = phone number and whether the proxy server is correct, I’m not entirely sure either. Where did you get the data from?
