Update settings for Thunderbird on Mac

Hi everyone,
I followed the instructions to update Thunderbird settings on Mac by mid-June (pop3s, etc.) but this way I can no longer receive messages on my Bluewin accounts. To receive them again I had to reset the old settings. In this way will I be able to continue receiving messages even after mid-June?

Hi, thank you for the post.
I’m continuing to use the two accounts on Bluewin (I receive and send emails correctly), so I guess everything is fine.
I take advantage of your availability for a question: those two accounts are in POP3 protocol; can I transform them into Imap?
I tried asking Bluewin technical support, but I probably found an employee who knows less than me…

Thank you for your new question. You can transform your POP3 accounts into IMAP and we also always recommend it in order to synchronize everything.

thanks for your clarification. Could you please point me to some tutorials, preferably in Italian, in which the necessary procedure for pairing Mac + Thunderbird is explained step-by-step? I assume that you will need to create new IMAP accounts and then delete the old POP3 ones, but I would like to make sure I don’t lose any of the old emails.

You can create backups of your email inbox in Thunderbird if you want, and import them again in case some emails are missing: https://www.ionos.com/help/email/other-email-programs /mozilla-thunderbird-exporting-emails/

Otherwise you don’t necessarily need My Service (15 / 30.- CHF for 30 minutes), but you can use the step-by-step instructions for Swisscom’s email setup: https://emailsetup.swisscom.ch/guide/#customer=residential&lang=de&manual=setup&step=macPersonalInfo

I have already made a leap forward for you in choosing the operating system and selecting programs. You just have to enter your name and email and you can do the tutorial. You need to enter this information so that it appears correctly on subsequent pages and so that you know where it will go.
The data is not shared by Swisscom.
