@Dejan08 Happened to me a few times last week too. The first time I thought the confirmation would come straight away but sometimes it actually takes a little longer. One of them probably didn’t get the text message until the next day with the usual text. Apparently you can’t rely on that at all.
Immediately after making the reservation, an email arrived that you have to show in the Apple Store. There is a QR code on this email. However, none of the 3 employees I interacted with asked me about it. All I had to do was give my name and they already had all the information.
I’ve only had my new toy since Saturday and haven’t experimented with it that much yet.
Hopefully the camera will be properly inaugurated this week as I plan to go to Schildhorn. 🙂 If it works and the weather cooperates, I will upload a few photos here.
The home button takes some getting used to at the beginning, but after a short time you get used to it and find it “normal”. The two speakers are also great, the sound is simply great.
Since I come from the normal 6 Series, the live photos and the display force touch are also new for me. The live photos, well, a gimmick that is probably not used that often, but the Force Touch display is a cool thing. I think a lot of things will be possible in the near future…
So far I haven’t been able to find anything about this ominous Hissgate, which is supposed to make a noise coming from the iPhone.
@jaeni7687 is a real shame when there’s no store nearby. The only thing left to do is wait for Swisscom. I would also have liked to get mine in Basel but apart from Geneva it takes a little more than an hour by car to Zurich or Wallisellen. The motorway was clear at midday on Friday, although there was chaos in Zurich itself, but if you have a reservation, it’s reserved for the whole day.
@mrcel That would be mean. By then there would probably be some everywhere.
@micfil This seems to vary from store to store. As soon as I was able to get hold of the iPhone via the reservation site, I called the store and was told that I should print out this page with the QR code and bring it with me. If you can do without it, even better.
I was also able to test mine at the weekend and for me the jump from the 6 series to the 7 plus was big. Camera is great, nothing to complain about. Sure, a lot of it is toys, but the pictures or videos are really TOP. The battery lasts well, I charged it on Friday evening and it lasted until midday on Sunday. You get used to the new home button really quickly. I’m still in the process of testing the 3 choices. I took part in the iOS 10 test program, so I had the pleasure of testing some new things beforehand and I think it was good. The graphics are also great. Who knows the Zen Garden app? I already had it on my 6 and exploring the garden is even more fun on the Plus.
I read something about the Hissgate yesterday for the first time, but I can’t say anything about it because everything is going well so far. Only yesterday the thing was on the desk and suddenly Siri turned on by itself. I haven’t been able to find any other errors so far. I hardly or not used Siri on the 6 Series. Now there’s a male voice and my son now only gets WhatsApp messages via Siri: smileyvery-happy:
I had to re-pair my watch. That took a while, but now it’s working perfectly again.
@Wallfab Hopefully SC should do something about that this week. Some have now canceled their orders.
@The DarkAngel hey, DarkAngel, quick question, do you know why Siri suddenly turns on without a keyword, i.e. without “hey Siri”? This has been happening a lot with my 6s plus lately… thought I was the only one who had this phenomenon.
Wallfab
Yes, it’s probably a huge jump from the 4s or 5s. Just going from the 6 to the 7 is great. Much faster and better.
I already had my first misfire. Nothing worked anymore, I couldn’t use the touchscreen anymore and therefore couldn’t use the home button either. Lock screen didn’t work either. Only pressing the power button for a longer time brought up the swipe option to shut down the iPhone. However, I couldn’t wipe it because the touchscreen didn’t work. So as a tip for everyone: The new restart function on iPhone 7 no longer works with the power off and home buttons, but with a long press on the power off and the lower volume button (I found out thanks to Google) 😉 After restarting everything worked perfectly again . Hope this doesn’t repeat itself too often.
Otherwise I’m super satisfied! Lots of exciting new things and so much faster! The battery is also a stunner compared to the 6 Series (of course I didn’t have a Plus model before). I’m pretty impressed with the camera too. Here is a photo in the dim light of the circus.

@Wallfab The jump from the 5s to the 7 Plus will be huge. My son grabbed my 6 on Saturday, he had the 5s and even the 6 is a big jump. This will really be a big jump. But you will have fun. Even for me it was a big leap.
@jasinalexy No, I don’t know that either. It only happened once. But I don’t think it’s so tragic. But interesting that it didn’t just happen to me.
@The DarkAngel no, it’s really not tragic, just a bit embarrassing sometimes when my iPhone suddenly says “I didn’t understand that”:smileyvery-happy: I’m really scared about that:smileywink:
@jasinalexy Keep paying attention. I generally have my iPhone on quiet because everything is sent to the watch anyway.
@jasinalexy
We already had that in our lessons at the technical college. Then the teacher asked a question and Siri came out of a student’s pocket saying “I didn’t understand that, please repeat” 😄
Well, it lightened up the hour a bit 😄
