The time has now come for us. 300 / 70 works for my Anschluss.

Question: Which routers (without Swisscom routers) now work with these speeds?

From Swisscom: The InternetBox 2 (direct) or with a slot (SFP) also the InternetBox-Plus and InternetBox-Standard.

I received a letter from Swisscom (see link) and a lot of posters with ultra-ready tape Blabla were also put up (postal code 4144). Anyone else received the same letter?

According to ([https://www.swisscom.ch/de/about/unternehmen/portraet/netz/technologies.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/about/unternehmen/portraet/netz/technologies. html)) my internet speed has stopped over 10 years ago.

For security reasons (test phase), there are currently approx. 20 days between expansion and activation of the speed. The letters go out early. The checker should already show the speed.

@Anonymous Unfortunately there is nothing in the checker about an expansion. That’s why I was very pleased with the letter, but it could perhaps be a case of mix-up.

Is it possible to finance the FTTH expansion yourself? (e.g. from the distributor in the street)

(If no expansion is planned by Swisscom)

You can ask at the link below, but you can’t do it yourself!

Unfortunately not. In my case it is even pulled into the building and no more 50m would be necessary, but according to Swisscom it is not possible because the entire control center would have to be converted. The entire development would have to be converted and unfortunately that is out of the question.

It’s a shame that you don’t have this freedom, I’m sure some people would join in.

And last year, the entire street through our neighborhood was torn up, with total closure for weeks. Little by little, a total of over 1km of road. Electricity, water, sewage, gas. Everything was redone. The electricity goes into our basement, with an open ditch right up to the house wall. In many surrounding houses too. The only thing that wasn’t attacked on the street were the Swisscom cables. According to the municipality, Swisscom was informed but had no interest.

Then this spring we had half the garden open up to the basement because the sewer pipes had to be replaced. It would have been a good opportunity to lay at least one empty pipe right up to the property boundary. From there it would be another 25m to the next Swisscom box, which we would have even paid for, but given the construction costs it wouldn’t have made a big difference. But Swisscom had no interest.

It’s strange that Swisscom doesn’t take advantage of such opportunities.

And new buildings are being built all around, all new buildings are connected with copper cables and get a maximum of 50MBit, sometimes even less. There are no plans to expand, neither to G.fast nor to fiber optics. In a community on Lake Zurich, with 20,000 inhabitants and right in the center (500m from the train station). The speed shown in the checker was even reduced to 33MBit a few months ago. The modem still connects with the original 44MBit, but that’s not reassuring. And of course we still pay for 100MBit. Why should Swisscom expand there? She wouldn’t get any more money afterwards. “Only” we would finally have our paid 100MBit.

We should actually start paying Swisscom up to 129 per month. Or even less. Depending on what is technically possible.

Everything may be like that, but I would then switch to InOne, so at least you only pay for the 40 Mbit and not the 100 Mbit.

I only have 12 myself and always had the 100 Mbit included through Vivo M (I wanted a good TV subscription). Now I was able to set the Internet to S and TV to L and still save 19 per month.

I also switched to inone. I now pay 60 francs for the internet. landline is long gone. TV now too. now watch teleboy.

With a total of five cell phones in our family, I’m only with SC because of the good network coverage. But that could change…

Eh, I don’t know exactly what you mean. I have a 55 Mbit line. I pay 60 francs for internet. I have neither Swisscom TV nor landline telephony. Why should I pay more if the management doesn’t provide more?

It was said that the G.Fast will be displayed in the checker when we get them, hmm which checker?

So in the “Speedchecker” where you can read the speed, I haven’t read anything about g.fast from anyone I’ve entered…

When checking availability, only the estimated speed is displayed.
