A Swisscom technician came to install IP telephony at my home and was unable to obtain the configuration information for my Gigaset. It therefore appears that Swisscom does not accept the use of IP devices other than those they provide. It’s a shame…

Thank you for this information.
Did you have to pay the technician’s bill since he couldn’t solve your problem? What did you ultimately do to have IP telephony? Did you have to decide to buy a swisscom phone?

As I have a Centro business, my gigaset (which works in ISDN and/or IP) is connected in ISDN on the router and everything works. I have all the functions of IP telephony but not directly through my gigaset.

Hello everyone,

Allow me to revive this subject. I migrated my Internet connection to allow VOIP and also because by the end of 2016, no more ISDN (from what I understood, but obviously the end of ISDN will be later). So I ordered my phones (Gigaset S850A Go, GO-BOX 100) thinking that everything would work. While trying to configure all of this I found myself on the list of solutions but none of them work for me at the moment. And I’ve been looking for it for a while! I found some info from there but not yet the solution that works.

Configuring my networks.

1 Centro Business router in bridge mode. IP address 192.168.1.1 (standard) and accessible from the centro WIFI only

1 SonicWall Firewall with a LAN address (172.26.0.0/255.255.0.0) I know it’s huge but it’s historic.

1 Gigaset GO-Box 100 connect directly to the Centro Business router (with an IP address 192.168.1.34)

My configuration of the Gigaset with the following information gives me a registered status. But I guess it’s only on my router that it’s registered because there’s no line. Here are the printscreens of my Gigaset GO-Box 100:

ps-1.png

ps-2.png

ps-3.png

So I clearly think that my Gigaset is registered on my router in fact, but it… I don’t think it forwards anything.

After calling Swisscom, I was given the account information (username and password) which is actually the telephone number. Then I was offered to hire a specialist to help me configure until it worked, but at a cost. CHF 40.00 for 15 minutes, with the assurance that it will work. Good, but if I have to spend 2 hours at CHF 40.00 for 15 minutes and also be there at the end of the line, that will quickly add up to a lot of $.

In addition, it seems to me that any routing from the network (the 3 ports + wireless swisscom in 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0) no longer has routing in bridge mode. I wonder if that’s not the problem. Because no name resolution and no ping possible name anymore. Strange… because I tried with swisscom.ch as the recording server, but since my router doesn’t even have the resolution…

Would people have solved this VOIP problem without devices delivered by Swisscom? It’s not that they aren’t good, but I need certain functionality on the Gigaset that is not offered by Swisscom.

Thank you for your experiences

Cordialement

Swisscom gave the identifiers? There is starting to be a little more flexibility!

The SIP phone should not register with the router but with Swisscom directly.

The outbound proxy should be: bc1.ims.swisscom.ch

Good morning,

so indeed, I found this information concerning the outbound proxy bc1.ims.swisscom.ch, but impossible, the gigaset cannot register.

In fact after analyzing my network, I realize that this may be the problem. Let me explain… here is my network architecture ready:

reseau.png

So my Gigaset has a problem in my opinion. When I connect to the router which is in bridge mode (via the router’s WiFi, I arrive in the 192.168.1.0 network), it is impossible to ping the Google DNS address 8.8.8.8 for example. It’s like I don’t have any routing. From the router and diagnostic tools, also unable to ping to my internal/external network or even my 192.168.1.1 gateway, it’s as if my network is completely blocked.

Should I put my Gigaset in my network then… in 172.26.x.x?

Thank you for your suggestions

Total disappointment.:mansad:

Long time Swisscom customer, after multiple calls to support, I went so far as to purchase a connection to another VOIP provider to validate that my network configuration was indeed correct. Nothing to do, Swisscom does not want to make VOIP “Standard” and offers these customers to take telephones from their invoice and without possibility of choice.

I am and will remain loyal to Swisscom for their quality of service, that the different operators I spoke to on the phone were pleasant and efficient, as much as the policy and the fact of responding that their IP telephony is not compatible with VOIP telephones other than theirs is disappointing or even unacceptable.

I’m not the first to complain about this and there will be more posts like this in the future. This is a certainty, given that the lines will switch to VOIP by the end of 2016-2017….

So if this message is read by a manager, a technician or any other person from Swisscom who is able to change this way of doing things for VOIP. Thank you a thousand times for making this effort which will only benefit you.

So a thousand apologies:smileysad:, I don’t know how, but it works now!

The only difference, I connected 1 Rousseau 300 telephone in the network which is connected to my line. Since then, my gigaset configuration has worked.

After disconnecting the Rousseau 300 and restarting the Centro Business, everything continues to work. I lose all understanding of it.

Additionally I found this on the allo.ch forum [http://www.allo.ch/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=25914&highlight=swisscom+voip](http://www.allo.ch/phpbb2 /viewtopic.php?t=25914&highlight=swisscom+voip) and therefore this https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/loesung/sip.html

by following the instructions in the links above and taking the identifiers found in my Swisscom customer area, everything works without problem and without having to connect a telephone other than my Gigaset.

Hello ch1972
I think that in your case Swisscom is not responsible. Your phone is connected to a bridge (I connect to the router which is in bridge mode) as you specify. It is normal that from a bridge you cannot navigate or go through the NET with a public address.
Your bridge redirects to your SonicWall the private address according to the class A, BC, D and E RFCs assigned by Swisscom to your connection. So if you want it to work you need to route the public address of your phone to your private address or if you prefer you have not connected your phone to the right place on your network.
Once your base is configured, you can pair other handsets of the same brand using the DECT ICQ 2.0 standard.
What you need to know is that you can connect your base to any Internet connection that accesses the NET as long as the ports are open. And there you can call as if you were at home or even make an internal call from the other side of the world. You can do the same thing with a Natel or PC by installing the appropriate application. ATTENTION of data costs generated by roaming.
