Here in Wengen [3823 CH] in our chalet we have a Swisscom Internet-Box-Standard which has Wi-Fi, 4 wired ethernet ports, and 2 analog phone ports. Wi-Fi works fine; Wired Ethernet works fine; and up to 2 years ago analog phone worked as well. This year (we were away for a time due to medical reasons) I have found that the analog phone port no longer works. I have checked the settings in the internet box, which shows an error flag on the "phone" section on the status page. I have reset the box as it suggested but to no effect. Is analog telephony still supported ny this device? Or do I have to buy a DECT phone to replace that? We do want to keep a 'fixed line' type of telephone in the chalet. Ideas please?

Also demzufolge hast Du diese Steckdose wo das Internetkabel mit den violetten Stecker eine Rückführung vom Telefon Signal der Internet-Box in die interne Telefoninstallation durchführt.

WalterB Internet ‘purple’ cable plugs into “internet” port on the box; this laptop is on a wired Ethernet connect to a “gigabit-ethernet” port on the box; the analog phone is connected to the first “Phone” port on the box. Another laptop also uses Wi-Fi and is working.

Also, when I access the “internet-box” (192.168.1.1 of course!) and go to ‘telephony’ I can do a ‘ring test’ and the analog telephone rings okay.

Probiere mal beide Analog Anschlüssen bei der Internet-Box aus.

WalterB Yes, the two RJ-45 connections on the Swisscom Internet-Box-Standard for analog phones no longer work the telephone. The ring test works (the phone rings). The handset on the telephone emits a continual ‘beep beep beep’ tone as if it was ‘engaged’. Also, on the status page of the internet-box, it shows an error flag on ‘telephony’.

Funktioniert das Telefon jetzt wieder ? wenn nicht ist der Router defekt und muss ausgetauscht werden.

Doquacoa51 Der Router ist nicht korrekt im System registriert. Das könnte der Grund sein, dass der VoIP Teil nicht sauber läuft. Da das Teil eh sehr alt ist, empfehle ich die Aktion für Bestandeskunden zu nehmen und ein neues Gerät (IB5) kaufen. Dieses wird dann für den Anschluss voreingestellt und kann sofort in Betrieb genommen werden. Alternativ mindestens eine IB3 z.B. bei Ricardo zu ersteigern, resetten und dann in Betrieb nehmen.

Roger G Thank you Roger. In this case, then I would like to purchase a new device, this ‘IB5’ as you mention. Please can you tell me where/how I can purchase this device, and how long delivery would be? I have been told that ‘EWL’ in Lauterbrunnen is a dealer, but I am not sure.

War da nicht noch die Rede von einem analog Telefon welches nicht direkt an der Internet-Box angeschlossen ist und mit der alten Internet-Box über das Internet-Kabel in das interne Telefonnetz geleitet wird.

So wie ich zum Teil gelesen habe funktioniert das bei der Internet-Box 5 nicht mehr, bin aber nicht 100% sicher weil entsprechende Informationen nicht vorhanden sind.

I have purchased a new IB5 “Internet Box” from Swisscom and I have installed it together with some new equipment which I brought with me. Everything is working correctly, including the analog fixed-line telephone in my chalet here in Wengen. Thank you again.
