Unifi Dream Router 7 (UDR7)

  • Dear Swisscom

I use Unifi devices throughout my network and am very satisfied with them.

The only thing that bothers me is that I still need the Swisscom router, which is actually an unnecessary additional device. There is not a single Ubiquiti device on the compatibility list.

The new Unifi Dream Router 7 would be perfect for me.
Would it be possible for you to check this and add it to the compatibility list?

If you need a test subject, I would also buy it and test it with you.

If you have a compatible SFP+, it could work. This has been discussed several times here in the community and, as far as I know, has been successfully implemented

      by the way:
This is not “dear Swisscom” - we are customers here just like you….

      ….keep on rockin'

POGO 1104 Thank you for your reply. I realise this is a customer forum, but I’m quite sure Swisscom is reading too. Unfortunately there is no contact email at Swisscom and you can’t open a ticket anywhere. And you just get spit off on the phone. That’s why I wanted to put it in writing here.

I think it should also work with the right SFP+ module. But Swisscom also states that only devices on the compatibility list are explicitly permitted. Hence the attempt here.

This router does not have a built-in modem, so it cannot be connected directly to an Internet connection and therefore cannot be included in a compatibility list for the various connection types.
However, it does have an SFP+ port, which can also be used as a WAN connection.

I wouldn’t do this myself, but you may be able to supplement it with an additional network-compatible SFP+ bridge modem.

What is the exact connection type of your Swisscom connection: copper, VDSL2, g.Fast, fibre optic, FTTH, FTTH with blue connector (BX), FTTH with red connector (XGS-PON)?

POGO 1104 Thank you very much, that sounds exciting, it’s probably exactly what I need.

Now I just need to find the right SFM+ XGS-PON module… The one mentioned in this post is currently not available at Galaxus.

But it really seems to fit and is even certified by Swisscom :-)

luzerner75 but the question is whether the RES customers process enquiries, I don’t think so.

I have another hot TIP: At internettelefon.ch @Meier123

            Hello together

Well, it definitely works perfectly: Unfiy Dream Router 7 with the “Allnet ISP Bridge Modem ALL-BM410-XGSPON-GBIC”.

There are 2 important points: On the WAN side, the following settings are mandatory:

            • VLAN: 10
            • DHCP option 60: 100008,0001

This will almost certainly work with any third-party router if you use this certified module.
The module gets quite warm, but I assume this is normal as it has a large “heat sink” on it.

The module will probably be available again soon at Galaxus, the reseller says end of April:

I ordered it here, friendly advice and received it the next day:
