How to install the SwissCom app on a foreign mobile

The app cannot be installed on a foreign mobile phone. Is there a solution?

    Hello @Whueghoolau36

As far as I know, the app is only available in the Swiss store.

So the best you could do is try setting your device to Switzerland. However, I have never tested whether this works and whether the app will still run afterwards.

Or at best it could work if you find an APK on the Android and install it.

MySwisscom app? The app is basically just a convenient way to use the customer centre. You can also do everything in the browser. Simply log in to the customer centre… done. If you wish, you can also create a shortcut on the home screen to replace the app.

An employee of a customer wanted to install the Enterprise Telephony app on his mobile phone, currently lives in Germany and his mobile phone is also set to DE as the country

The idea was that he could use it to make cheaper calls (CHF 20 a month for another landline number with a flat rate), but it didn’t work, we tried to install it in various ways but it didn’t work (CH Google account etc.)

I have no other idea than APK sideloading, but I didn’t want to take responsibility for that because Swisscom doesn’t officially offer the APKs for download anywhere

With his DE subscription it costs half a fortune to make calls in Switzerland or from home DE- > CH

In the end, we took out an Enterprise Mobile Europe subscription for him, which means Swisscom earns more, so that’s another way to sell 😂

Yes, I think that was right. APK is just one of those things. Every Android mobile phone must first be set to allow APKs to be installed… but you have to be really careful what you download. There is always a considerable risk of malware this way. Another disadvantage… the app does not update itself. You have to do this manually every now and then, if possible. If you never do this, the app may cause problems over time, etc. That’s why it’s better to stay away from APK stuff! Especially for the normal user, as you need to know exactly what you are doing.

NilsL also works with an APK extractor from a mobile phone where the app is installed, only the programme is contaminated with a lot of advertising. Only the update is of course the problem. You can only change the Google Store once a year. A few years ago I managed to install the German DHL Packstation’s app on my Swiss mobile phone. It only worked with the German Google Store on the German mobile network.

Why would you download the MySwisscom app from this store in an unsafe way? Most of the apps there also feel like the Stone Age. MySwisscom is from August 2023, blue TV is even from 2020! Instead, simply log in to the customer centre as normal via the browser and create a shortcut as an app replacement on the home screen if required. Problem solved.

Just since half a year SwissCom made it possible to login to the website via the browser with a foreign mobile phone number. 2fa is required and this works now on a foreign mobile phone.

To install the Swisscom app on a foreign mobile phone, i.e. a +31…. number, is not possble. The telephone number should start with +41…. , so the login failed!

For such a big broadcasting/telephone company this should be solved.

          Whueghoolau36

Do you mean logging in e.g. to the Swisscom customer centre or WEB-Mail ?

If so, how did you register with a foreign number?

Your case is special. Normally, a roamer from abroad with a foreign SIM does not need a MySwisscom app. At most, you could try to insert a CH SIM card into the device and select the country Switzerland in Google. I can’t say whether this will work. I would say yes, but without guarantee. Attention! The country cannot be changed permanently in the Google account! This is only possible once a year.

But as already mentioned here several times, simply log in via the browser and create a shortcut on the home screen as a replacement for the app. Is it that easy on an Android or what’s so difficult about it? There is no other solution!

          @WalterB

He wants to install the MySwisscom app, but it is not available because the user is using a foreign device, a Google account from abroad and a foreign phone number.
