Unfortunately there are only the following three options:
1. Bite the bullet and take part in the upgrade.
2. Cancel multiroom and only use 1 box (in theory you can also switch between the boxes, but it’s a bit tedious)
3. Find another provider whose offer better fits your consumption profile.

If you never use 2 TV boxes (or Smart TV-Blue TV app, or Smart TV-Blue TV app and TV box) at the same time, I would cancel Multiroom, as switching back and forth between two boxes works. It’s a bit complicated because you have to select and confirm certain queries. A few seconds of time are also lost.
Otherwise, bite the bullet and pay CHF 4.90 more.
Another option is to switch to Wingo and subscribe to Wingo TV (only available in the Internet and TV bundle). Swisscom is also in the background, and currently the IP 1800 TV Box, but with different software. There you can subscribe to a second TV box for 5.-/month and have to pay 29.- once. Or you can take a look at other providers.
I also received this letter, and yes, I was annoyed too. I bought the second TV-Box and booked the multiroom subscription because that’s what I need. From the customer’s perspective, the subscription change is clearly a price increase and massive. I will never have 4 devices so there is no benefit. Swisscom probably assumes that very few customers will forego the second TV-Box, so they simply charge more money without providing any additional service. It is also assumed that hardly anyone will change provider if they are satisfied with the other services. But of course that’s not customer-friendly…
@Elbandi You can see it however you want. Everyone who has more than two additional TV boxes / Smart TVs with Blue TV app in their operation was made happy with multiroom Max. Logically, no one complained (savings of CHF 0.10 to CHF 10.10), but the big thank you letter didn’t come back then, with a few exceptions. This was quietly accepted.
You can never please everyone anyway. Everyone with an additional box / Smart TV with Blue TV app now has to bite the bullet or change something. If the health insurance company only added CHF 4.90, everyone would probably nod and accept it without thinking about changing. With the multiroom Max subscription, which you use every day depending on the person, the almost 5 Stutz is the end of the world.

How many people have more than two TV boxes in use? Why should someone write a thank you letter for a service that they pay for? How much effort did SC put into adding the additional streams? And what’s the point of the comparison with health insurance companies?
If you want to defend your serve, you should find better arguments. My opinion.
I also think the increase is completely wrong, we don’t need more than 2 boxes.
We are a bit older and switching is too complex for us.

Yes, but Swisscom does what it wants with us anyway, even with loyal subscribers.

If you have to pay attention to money, you can travel a lot cheaper with the Swisscom discount brand “WINGO”.
An additional box there still only costs 5.– and the Internet/TV subscription is already significantly cheaper. (Example internet subscription 39.95 + TV subscription 9.95 + additional box 5.- makes 54.90/month including a 2nd TV box) plus one-time activation fee of 99.-
If you can live with the fact that Wingo is a purely online provider and the paid hotline times are limited, you can save a lot of money per year….

But what are you supposed to do? It is just the way it is. The customer now has it in his or her own hands to decide what he or she wants to do. Bite the bullet and pay more, cancel the multiroom option and only use 1 TV box or change provider completely. Most people probably don’t have the right subscription for them anyway, many pay too much or for services that they don’t use at all or only use very rarely. It certainly can’t hurt to compare the offers and prices in general at the moment. It is not uncommon for you to be able to pay far more than just under 5.00 per month. the Multroom Max costs more. But the magic word is “act”. Because nothing comes from nothing.

Yes, but let’s be honest… What do you expect? We can’t say that you just have to do this and that quickly as a trick and you will continue to pay the old price. In this case I didn’t expect anything from the community, I just expressed my opinion like others have done. And of course I was also interested in the reaction to the SC’s action. I thought it was audacious to sell the price increase as an update/modernization of the offer, even though it was clear at first glance what it really is. By the way: I will neither cancel nor switch to Wingo but will keep the second box and pay the surcharge. The issue is now closed for me.
I have another comment that has nothing directly to do with the topic. As with many other larger companies, it is no longer possible to address reactions directly to SC by email. In the community, SC is not forced to give an answer. This actually contradicts the basic principle of a service provider. As such, I have to be interested in what my customers think about changes. Of course, this means a certain amount of effort for the provider, but the advantages should actually outweigh them. One could interpret this to mean that the supplier is not interested and thus shows the behavior of a monopolist.
