Ladies and gentlemen from Swisscom,
Is it really useful to change a product that was previously free to earn 2.90 CHF per month?
Per year, that’s CHF 34.80 per customer. According to what I found, 2.01 million people have a fixed connection with Swisscom. So that’s potentially 70 million CHF per year more. The montant is certainly lower, because a certain number of customers will prefer the free Light offer to the paid offer.
When we know Swisscom’s profits, we can ask ourselves whether dissatisfying customers for 70 million more per year is worth it.
This reminds me of a smart guy in a bank who took a few cents from each account every month and ended up with several millions at the end of the year. I am in no way accusing Swisscom of fraud. But I think Swisscom could do without these 70 million. Or is Swisscom in dire straits?

Hello HCIG128
There are no ladies and gentlemen here, we are simply customers like you on this forum. The figures you mention are not correct, they are just assumptions on your part. A large proportion of Webmail subscribers pay nothing because they are already subscribed to the Email Light offer or will not pay the additional 2.90. To avoid these fees, they will migrate to the Email Light subscription, which remains free.

hello, I don’t understand why we have to pay more for a big SHIT to update mailboxes without being able to simply recover or do an action which has disappeared, like the contacts associated with all the boxes which are simpler and the selection of several email at the same time.
The separation of mailboxes as it is done is, I find, an aberration and not at all user-friendly.
Creating change allows the company to justify an increase.

to avoid all these inconveniences 😠
on PC or Mac install an external email program: Thunderbird, Outlook
on a mobile/tablet use the device’s native Mail app
create a pwd/account then configure them in IMAP on the external device
please give feedback

Hello @abricot
Since computer screens are horizontal, ads are least disturbing from the side.
To mitigate the loss of width, the best is to change the display layout and choose “List” which does not simultaneously display the list of messages and the content of the selected message. It is also possible to save space by using the button at the very bottom of the left column to hide it (but it also hides the list of folders!)

-… how to select several messages for moving…
use the Shift and Ctrl keys, this is a standard for partial/multiple selections
Click on the first element of the group, then on the last. Hold down Ctrl. Click on the items to select. You can also hold Ctrl and then drag the files to select.
Use the mouse + Shift key or Shift
Select, with the left mouse click, a first file. Then press and hold the Shift key and with the left click of your mouse, click on the final file that you want to select.
otherwise Inbox (or any other box/folder)
click on the … (three small dots) -> Select all messages

Good morning,
If these figures are just guesses, it would tend to mean that this could be less than 70 million in profit. This proves me right about my question as to why charge for a service that pays so little when Swisscom generates so much profit.
Why charge for the use of email addresses when they were previously included in the subscription? If someone from Swisscom can give me a good (non-financial) reason, I’m willing to change my opinion.
Cordialement.
Good morning,
Thank you for the advice but it should also be noted that the messages must be deleted on the server when the messages are repatriated in IMAP to the local e-mail client.
But how do we synchronize several e-mail clients on different machines (desktop, tablet, smartphone) if one of the local e-mail clients deletes the messages on the server? That’s the problem with this new paid subscription!
Cordialement.
Hello @HCIG128
It is the POP protocol which deletes messages from the server upon download.
For the IMAP version, the client synchronizes with the bluewin mail server and simply displays the folder contents, just like Webmail does. We can therefore easily work with several IMAP clients in parallel.
It is only when you delete a message or when you move a message from a server folder to a local folder on one of the clients that it disappears for the other clients.

Hello @Teullisseif53,
Can you try to explain what you don’t understand. Find out what’s blocking you?
