What’s new about this subscription other than the exorbitant rental price. For what do I need a subscription for five televisions in an apartment with two televisions. Dear Swisscom or dear Mr. Thomas Buschor (signed the letter to customers), you are discriminating against a group of people with this surcharge and this is not okay! What’s a two-person household with 5 TVs supposed to do? Does this even exist? But the majority have two TVs. I will be canceling all of my Swisscom subscriptions after more than 30 years.

Yes and OK.

Could have been done before.

Why only resolve this “threat” now?

I find this automatic subscription adjustment a disgrace. We are considering leaving Swisscom (we have everything with them and pay around 200.00 CHF per month). We have 2 boxes and these are enough for us. Even if the offering is expanded, the program content will not improve. It’s a shame that Swisscom treats customers like this.

Swisscom is screwing over all of its customers. To capitalize there is no price increase until December 31st, 2024 and now this. That is a price increase. But somehow you now have to recoup the 18 million that you have to pay to the ComCo.

This 18 million should be billed to management.

Swisscom could also give every customer with a multiroom a TV box.

But the customers are only there to rip you off.

I find it really sad and shameful.

I don’t quite understand that, why should we pay more if we can’t use the offer.

Please raise the fees for those who use or want to use more than 1 box. We don’t need that.

You make new out of old, but unfortunately not better, but more expensive.

Why aren’t we so flexible today and adapt subscriptions as needed? If you want more, you should pay more.

We don’t want to pay more because we don’t need it. Too bad

Last week I received a message from Swisscom that the multiroom option for an additional device would be discontinued. Under the title “Latest subscriptions” I am being sold a cost increase from previously CHF 5.00 to CHF 9.90 per month. Say and write a Teuerung of 98% for no additional service (I only need one additional box and not 4). I think it’s time to think about changing provider.

I have the blue Internet S (40) subscription and received the letter today that my subscription is being changed to blue Internet S (100).

I have a moderately good internet connection. Will the line be checked “ex officio” by Swisscom when this change occurs, or do I have to report somewhere?

Thanks and greetings

@Chehantaust37 the change in user access happens automatically

Your line looks good, not perfect 6 CRC in 8 days,

Subsequent ADDITION: but compared to the measurements a year ago (last post from you) it looks miserable now.

Values: min (0 CRC) max. (500 CRC) per DAY.

The SNR is not OK Perfect would be 6.0/6.0!

CRC=Uncorrectable error.

You already have 100Mbit/s router access.

But if you have problems with your Anschluss, you can

You can contact Tel: 0800 800 800 or via the contact form here turn around.

There is currently a problem (problems with forms).

Hello @Chehantaust37

Due to your technology, you should also be able to use the speed of the new blue Internet S. Of course, there can be factors that can influence the speed (Wi-Fi connections, house installation, etc.). If you would like to have it checked, you are welcome to contact our hotline after the change.

Best regards

The values for synchronization speed and signal-to-noise ratio confuse me.

As a layman, I had the impression that I had good values a year ago (see attached file).

At the end of June 2023 something happened, the internet box switched on and off independently all day long.

From then on the values began to decline. I don’t check it every day, just every now and then when the connection gets stuck. I don’t have the cloud or any other large data transfers. I read information pages, news or something similar and need email. No TV.

As a superuser, what do you think about this?

@Chehantaust37 everything looks okay a year ago.

You even have 442Mbit/s down and 122Mbit/s up.

The SNR (signal-to-noise ratio of 12.3dB/6.2dB) is okay.

Ideal would be 6.0dB/6.0dB, but if your Anschluss runs stable I wouldn’t worry, but compared to today’s measurements, I would be worried.

I don’t know why your line has stabilized? Do you use Powerline?

Has your house installation been adapted to PTP (Poit to Point) connection line:UP->Router))?

Otherwise @Roger G would have to take a remote look at your Anschluss to see why that is.

For surfing, 100 Mbit/s down is actually enough, because most web servers aren’t any faster.

If you want to book a Techi on site, it will be expensive for you 160.- CHF/h and 80.- CHF travel fee.

I estimate that the follow-up analysis on site would cost you around CHF 240.

Remote (above 2nd level) is of course always free.

I live as a tenant in a property on the corner of O-Strasse and N-Strasse. The O-Street was renovated in 2020/21 and the telephone cables in the street were upgraded to fiber optic. The property is accessed from a shaft on N-Street with copper in the ground, and the surrounding houses are connected to overhead lines. The glass cable is pulled up to this shaft. The house connections/copper were attached to this new installation in June 2021. Nothing was done to the house supply line or the house’s internal line.

After switching to All-IP in 2018, a Swisscom technician checked my Anschluss in-house on behalf of Swisscom and changed the “exchange line” in the local exchange to a different wire. Then I had a good, stable internet connection.

I don’t have powerline. The line is continuous without any additional connections. Copper wire with 2 wires to the TT socket in the stairwell, then a gray multi-fibre telephone cable to the socket in the apartment. This was previously an ISDN Anschluss, created privately by a Swisscom technician (family member).

The computer is connected directly to the Internet box with a cable. I rarely need WiFi for my smartphone.

The N-road should also be renovated. The project has been approved, but the work next to the property will probably not be done this year as new buildings are still planned on N-Strasse.

That’s my information about the situation.

@Chehantaust37 In your case it could be the old ISDN house installation that is causing you problems.

With fiber optics in the street and then to copper, you are switched to an MCAN (internet machine) in front of your house, hence the G.Fast technology.

Old technology of ADSL/VDSL ran at a frequency of 20Mhz (shortwave),

G.Fast runs at a frequency of up to 102 MHz (VHF).

You see, the higher the frequency, the more sensitive it is to interference if you don’t have the right house installation.

As I said, first have your Anschluss checked remotely by @Roger G

Thanks for your contributions.

The socket in the apartment is only connected with a wire. The line has no looped sockets.

The problem started on the night of June 23, 2023.

Here is another picture of the measurement from June 23, 203 at 10:57. Calculated back, the Internet box was automatically restarted at around 2:40 a.m. At 10:57 there were already a lot of CRC errors. During this period, no installation work was done in the house. I have no idea why the line became so unstable from one day to the next.
