Then it could very well be that there is a problem in the SC part of the line.

It’s best to wait for @Roger G to see if he can identify a problem.

Or ask @Roger G if he can check the line - it’s not yours?

Does that mean the cable wasn’t replaced?

Has it at least been checked whether the two wires are connected correctly?

Are you sure that the cable is a continuous one without the bridge taps mentioned?

Did you notice a difference after changing cans?

1.) Only the can was replaced.

2.) It is a continuous cable.

3.) The box was checked by Cablex.

4.) Performance improvement easily noticeable. Formerly 40 year old T+T can.

Ok, then the cable will also be 40 years old. So no U72, but old “bell wire”. Unsuitable for today’s sophisticated g.fast installations if you want to get the last bit of speed out of it.

What was ok for ADSL with 20 MBit 10 years ago is no longer necessarily suitable for g.fast with 500 or more MBit/s today.

That sounds like U72, which is exactly how it should be…

Speaking of the U72: Universal cable in 1972…50 years later still “state of the art”

However, something is pretty fishy here if so little is received compared to the checker…

Yes, that is quite possible. For me there are 2 wires, one is white and one is blue. They are separate and not shielded.

    sounds like G51 1×2× 0.8 or 0.6 cable. Should be twisted…

I have another question. My UP box has reached its lifespan and the screws can no longer be tightened and it wobbles a lot. Can it also be replaced during the BBR installation? Year of construction 1980.
