Is it worth switching from the internet box plus to the internet box 3?

I could have saved myself the change from Internet-Box plus to Internet Box 3. With the Wifi Analyzer I get roughly the same results. Aesthetically, I find the Internet-Box plus more beautiful and the digital menu navigation is also more user-friendly. When the router is raised, the visible internet cables also bother me, which are of course less annoying when the router is lying down. So for an average user with Kuper Anschluss, it’s a lot of fuss about nothing.

Hello

The IB plus is at the end of its life cycle and only receives a security update when necessary. With the IB3 you are now on the safe side.

You’re looking at the WiFi thing completely wrong. It’s not just about signal strength. The IB plus can only support Wifi 5 in the first generation. The IB3 Wifi 6. This has many advantages in terms of throughput, which leads to a faster and more stable connection. This is like LTE to 5G in mobile communications.

It is always dangerous when you judge things with half-knowledge. Many tools on the Internet suggest that anyone can judge everything.

Thanks for the (semi) professional answer.

If it’s not entirely clear to me what’s wrong, take a look at the link below, where you can see the improvements in the new Internet box.

Why did you remove the answer that @5018 wrote earlier as a solution? You asked here whether it was worth switching from the Internet box plus and you were given a detailed answer. If the old router still meets your needs and runs smoothly, then keep it as far as I’m concerned. Everyone has to decide for themselves. But the fact is that, like any other electronic device, the time has come at some point when the end of its life has been reached and that is not the case with the Internet box plus today. I think this router came onto the market 10 years ago! It is definitely EOL (End of Life)

Possibly The solution was set by a moderator. Because the person asking the question didn’t get in touch anymore. And @Siessufrang11 has now checked the box, not the solution.

But I find the statement semi-professional answer a bit disturbing. @5018’s answer is absolutely correct.

@Siessufrang11 if the high IB 3 bothers you, you can stick with the IB Plus. But just never complain if you suddenly have security problems.
