Apple watch cellular roaming plan

  • Good morning

I want to know if the cellular plan on Apple Watch supports roaming?

    • Fragronno17 likes that.

In the description it is indicated for Soon which means that we have to wait for a future update of the Apple Watch!

    Hello Doremi,

Thank you for your super quick feedback.

So you think it’s worth our while to wait a bit? 🤔

We are happy that this feature is finally accessible because it is so missing 🫤

    @Preidupli73 Hello

To be able to use the roaming function on your Apple Watch, you must check with Swisscom whether this function is supported for your plan and for the geographical area in which you are traveling.

If you already have a mobile subscription with Swisscom, you can get a SIM Multi Device card for 5 francs per month. To do this, you can go to the Swisscom website. This SIM card will allow you to benefit from the same advantages as your mobile subscription on your Apple Watch, including for roaming services if this option is included in your plan.

The roaming function on the Apple Watch is available with Swisscom subscriptions! Simply update the Apple Watch (watch os 9.4). Once done, go to the e-sim settings and activate “Cellular data”, then “data abroad”.

    So simple!

me if I take a connected watch if I have a smartphone like the Samsung galaxy A50 I will take a watch that can connect with it and if because I am a little fed up with the Samsung galaxy A50, Wiko etc. I would like to have an Apple phone 10 or more but Apple 10 at least that would make me really happy and if necessary I will exchange my Samsung A7 tablet which can be connected with the mobile phone that you have especially since I pay the lawyers at the Zurich bar because I I don’t want to come to Zürich in prison for 3 days…. I really have to if I am obliged but as it is accepted that I pay on June 30…. whereas normally it is up to the curator to pay the amount to pay this bill for lawyers at the Zürich bar, especially since they are colleagues and not enemies….but hey

    Good morning,

I have the same problem for my daughter who only has an Apple Watch (so another phone number than my iPhone which manages the watch).

When I go to the Watch app and I don’t have an option to manage the esim. There is a cellular plans option, which says Swisscom but I can’t do anything more.

I’m going to Italy with my daughter and I would like her to be able to benefit from the roaming included in her subscription.

    Can you help me?

    THANKS!

Hello @Peppauldioth45, thank you for your contribution.

Have you followed the procedure indicated on this link: [Configure & use option Multi Device](https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/mobile/multi-device.html#tabs -e28ce3e14f%5Bselected%5D=tab_1624004783204) and especially point number 5? Good morning,

    Thank you for your feedback.

This is the information I had. But forgive my ignorance, but why doesn’t it work with an AppleWatch when my children have two Smartwatches from another brand (Xplora not to mention it) it works PERFECTLY abroad. Furthermore, this roaming thing works with a phone so what is concretely different from a watch??? (Sorry but I’m stubborn and like to understand). Furthermore, do you think that this situation is likely to change in the short or medium term or should we assume that there is little chance of this happening? Thank you for these last clarifications.

    Hello everyone,

I have just seen that apparently the situation has changed for France.

Here is the response from a Swisscom moderator:

    Hello everyone,

    Thank you for your contributions.

After taking information, here is the information collected:

Swisscom launched VoLTE with its partner Bouygue Telecom at the end of last year.

The availability of the function with Orange and SFR will follow.

Only Apple Watches in Multi-Device configuration (“paired for myself”) connected to a VoLTE network while roaming can use calls and data transfer while roaming.

If Apple Watch is set up as a primary subscription (e.g. “paired for family member”), calls and data transfer do not work.

What worries me in this message is that apparently if we decided to buy two AppleWatches for our children, as they do not have their own cell phone, therefore their watch would be managed in “Family Sharing” on our iPhone (despite the fact that they do have “telephone numbers” with SIM card (E-SIM) = inOne Mobile care subscription) well that wouldn’t work!!!

Do you understand like me and has anyone already tested this situation?

I, who was happy to finally be able to upgrade to slightly more advanced Smartwatches for our children, are now forced to give up.

Thank you for your feedback and valuable advice.
