WiFi/password

  • Hello everyone

I have a problem with my WiFi password.

We have a Trixie TX8 Smart automatic feeder.

Unfortunately, according to the manufacturer, it is not possible to pair the machine if the WLAN password contains special characters.

This is a requirement of the Tuya platform, over which you unfortunately have no influence.

Can I generate a Swisscom WiFi password without special characters?

    • @Danny1957 Workaround: buy a WLAN access point where it also works without special WLAN characters.

Router -> Ethernet cable -> New WLAN access point without special WLAN characters ->Tuya automatic feeder.

I used this TP-Link TL-WA801N for Fr. 28 from Digitec because of a case like this.

It’s just 2.4G and LAN for 100Mbit/s, but in most simple cases it’s enough.

Installationen, Netzwerk, Internet, Computertechnik, OS Windows, Apple und Linux.

It is also smaller and more inconspicuous with the TP Link Nano, configured as an AP:

You can hang it directly behind an Internet box and plug the USB cable for power directly into the Swisscom Internet box on the USB-Anschluss. In addition, of course, there is also the short LAN cable.

By the way, all cables plus an additional separate transformer (if you want to plug it into a 230 volt socket) are included.

It used to, but not anymore.

Actually, Tuya has a duty to get up to date here…

Tuya is committed to being as simple as possible for the user and compatible with products/services worldwide. In the end, safety suffers.
