my Cloud upload photos to iCloud

I have to admit that I can no longer see the forest for the trees. I’m generally very well informed about cloud services and I’m generally very familiar with them, but now I’m starting to stumble.

I have at my disposal:

My Cloud WEB

Win laptop with iCloud app

MacBook with Apple ID

Ext. FP backed up with all my Cloud albums

I’m now looking for the easiest way to upload the albums to iCloud.

I’ve already tried to create the albums on the Win laptop via iCloud.com and upload the photos there; but if I want to edit or upload several albums, the photos come into all folders instead of the corresponding ones.

What’s the easiest way to do it?

Load all photos (I even have an album with all photos) onto iCloud and edit them on the MacBook?

Please no unnecessary links to procedures I already know… Thank you

I first had to create the album folder in iCloud which has the same name on the Windows PC and then copy the contents of this folder into the created folder in iCloud.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work to copy entire folders and subfolders 1 to 1 into iCloud; this is also not possible with MyCloud.

@WalterB I may have described it a bit too complicated. I just want to upload the contents of the albums, without any additional folder structure. However, I’ve now noticed that not all of the photos from the My Cloud albums have been downloaded… Now it’s getting really interesting… Album “XY” has over 2000 photos on My Cloud, although in Explorer there are only around 500 in the album Photos are… I’m still having a crisis from this wishy-washy…

For me, all content is transferred, try transferring a folder with the “Share” action and saving this data to an internal or external storage space as an intermediate step and then transferring the data from there to the other cloud.

Is it possible that it has data that is not captured by iCloud?

I really have to try this sharing thing. Thanks, I hadn’t thought of that yet.

The iCloud actually records all data cleanly, even pictures that I received via WhatsApp (which would actually be less important to me). It even detects duplicates that do not need to be backed up twice.

I’m actually currently thinking about whether I should clean up the field from behind. Delete everything cleanly, of course also from the iCloud to the external FP, and save everything cleanly again. Luckily I haven’t deleted the pictures from MyCloud yet.

Unfortunately, it’s more time-consuming than I initially thought.

I’ve experienced several times that the automatic synchronization suddenly doesn’t work properly and I suspect that there’s a problem with the transfer, which is why I don’t use automatic synchronization on all clouds and then I always move the data into it by hand Cloud.

Additionally, as security, a QNAP NAS is used where all data is also backed up.

I’ve had bad experiences several times with automatic backups on MyCloud, iCloud and OneDrive. Therefore, I took control again myself, i.e. I copy and manage the data manually in the cloud.

Stupid question on the side: Is there the option to synchronize images with the local file system on the iPhone? The device could be used as a middleman.

I’m not aware of complete synchronization in both directions, only the automatic one. Upload.

In terms of interfaces and communication with the outside world, MyCloud behaves in a similar way to other Swisscom products (e.g. contacts in webmail). You can still get the content in fairly easily, but you can never get it out again automatically…

Incidentally, things look much better for the files with the Desktop Sync Client, because you can easily get the contents out again via the local sync folder.
