I didn’t expect such an arrogant answer from Swisscom! Do you see it that way too?

I do, that is exactly the respect that SC shows its paying customers.

That’s exactly how I feel right now: “The main thing is the numbers, I don’t care whether they can use it.”

I think it’s been known since last November that EOS4 was coming in dark mode, there were enough pictures and communication about it that almost everyone should have known what was coming.

@Seppl17

and why exactly did you know that? How did Swisscom conduct a representative customer survey regarding dark mode to determine whether the majority wanted it or not?

The community forum for this is hardly very representative?

Show original language (German)

It was announced here in the community and I think also on the Swisscom website last November with detailed explanations and photos, so I knew what was coming.

Do you really still believe in the stork? SC has never, ever conducted such a representative survey; it is simply not the business model of a federally subsidized company.

Show original language (German)

I’ve never believed in the stork, and I’ve never talked about any representative surveys, only that it was announced months ago. If you don’t like it, then write to Swisscom’s GL or cancel your subscription.

@r4s6 how do you know that exactly? Did you do the survey for the SC? Keep the ball flat!!! my recommendation.

@Seppl17

My rhetorical question about the stork actually went to @tulrich, sorry if that came out wrong.

As already mentioned above, there are good reasons not to move away from SC, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be annoyed about things that SC takes issue with.

@user109

What do I know exactly? Of course, I don’t know for sure whether SC didn’t do a proper representative survey, but that wouldn’t fit in with the other things they just decide. I respect the opinions of everyone here in the forum, but there is no reason to sugarcoat something that we as customers pay for.

@All

I won’t comment any further on this because I think I’ve made my position clear and nothing more is needed. Earlier, an MA from SC clearly wrote that there was no choice, SC decided to do so and only put it online as a preview for you to view, and there was never any question of whether you wanted it or not. Perhaps surveys via call centers would be the right tool here, although very few people would probably take part because they would be misused to attract unnecessary customers.

Hello IvanH,

  • Game rules?

  • You are accusing me of violating the rules of the game!

  • Please explain to me when, where and how I violated the rules of the game.

  • Concerning Darkmode:

  • This dark mode is already 40 years old and is nothing new or modern.

  • When I see your avatar picture, I think that you are not yet 40 years old.

  • From a health perspective, black writing on a light background is more pleasant than the other way around.

  • There are many scientifically proven articles on the internet that confirm this.

    All the best, your Muslim

good evening @JoelV

I would like to know whether swisscom will insist on the menu in dark mode or whether it will offer a light version again in the future… as was the case with eos3.2 de.

I thank you very much in advance for your official, transparent and honest answer.

PS: As already mentioned in the thread, I became a Swisscom TV customer not long ago precisely because of the white menu. and hey presto…it’s gone!

maybe it’ll be me again #adeswisscom

Please make the background white again. Such changes are frustrating. I’ve just spent half the evening trying to reset the menu.

I don’t like it in black at all and no alternative settings are possible. What’s that supposed to mean?

@compu

However, you are right that we have much bigger problems (corona pandemic) than dark mode at the moment!!
The only thing that bothers me is the arrogance of Swisscom.

(Under the motto: We already know what is right for you!)

  • hed likes that.

Every designer does it exactly that way. Fashion, cars, smartphones, buildings, perfume bottles, furniture, title pages, remote controls, signets, wine bottle labels, car rims, packaging, shop fittings, layouts, websites,… everywhere the customer is forced to see what is supposed to please.

And some people like the result and others don’t, what’s the problem?

Unfortunately you are forgetting a big difference. All of the above, apart from websites that somehow don’t fit in, are providers of consumer goods, whereas Swisscom is a service provider financed with taxpayers’ money.

Show original language (German)

No, you are wrong, Swisscom is a corporation and the federal government holds 51% of it. It is not financed with tax money, but rather delivers profits to the state treasury and pays dividends.
