Internet Box 2 info

I wanted to buy a new internet box 2 router (I currently have internet box 1) I would like to understand if the wifi range is greater signal or lower……..I remember that in the past the old Centro Grande router had a very strong WIFI signal more powerful than the classic internet box…………..and now internet box 2 (the new one) I wonder if they have improved anything or is it unchanged? Also have restricted NAT ports resolved? See discussion here [https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Router-Hardware/Someone-e-managed-to-open-le-porte-della-play-4-col-nuovo/td-p/324045] (https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Router-Hardware/Someone-e-managed-to-open-le-porte-della-play-4-col-nuovo/td-p/324045)

If any of you have already tried it let me know the pros and cons of the review

It would be appreciated

Thank you!

As for Wifi, I couldn’t tell you, but the Bandsteering mode on the Router certainly does its job. However, everything also depends on where the router is positioned and where you want to get the Wifi.

Regarding the NAT of the PS4, I found this discussion (in German):

[https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Archiv-Internet/Nat-2-zu-Nat-1-%C3%A4ndern/td-p/412989](https://community.swisscom.ch/t5 /Archiv-Internet/Nat-2-zu-Nat-1-%C3%A4ndern/td-p/412989)

Practically, it is impossible to have NAT1 on current routers, be it Swisscom routers or other devices, it would be possible with old devices that only act as modems.

However, Nat2 is very good as data traffic is completely freed up.

I imagined modern technology creates more security measures so the Nat 1 will be on the verge of extinction due to new firewall modems, too bad…. I understand that the risks count especially at the PC level, but for a limited console without a PC it is difficult to take risks, because not it’s like surfing on a PC without antivirus, in short, and similar to the iPhone as a closed system, just to clarify…

As for bandsterring, what exactly is it? And how does it work? What advantages does it bring?

WLAN band steering

Thanks to this function, devices (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) automatically connect to the router’s best WLAN network to achieve maximum speed. Whenever possible, the new generation devices automatically connect to the 5 GHz WLAN network, which is by far the fastest.

The Router has 2 WLAN, 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz, naturally the 5Ghz is more powerful, but has limited coverage, the 2.4Ghz is the opposite.

Band Steering allows the router to automatically switch a device between the two frequencies without your agreement. For example: you are close to the Router, the Tablet connects to 5Ghz, as soon as you move away and the 5Ghz becomes less powerful, the Router switches the Tablet to you on 2.4Ghz.
