Swisscom TV live no longer works after updating Silverlight

  • Good morning,

Since the last Silverlight update, Swisscom TV live on Mac (safari) no longer works. I always come across the home page where I’m asked to update Silverlight, but even doing it 5x the same page comes up again and again.

Please help me with this problem.

    Hello everyone,

Have you ever tried uninstalling the Silverlight plugin, deleting your browser’s cache and cookies, then reinstalling Silverlight?

Please specify when you return the Mac version and browser used.

Thank you in advance and have a good weekend.

At home, with a Mac Book Pro with all the updates carried out, under Firefox and Safari, swisscom tv online has never worked!

uninstalled and reinstalled silverlight 20x, opened a ticket with swisscom, nothing happened!

swisscom is completely helpless in the face of this big problem that is Silverlight, in any case on Mac it is totally messed up and works very randomly.

To abandon immediately or to reimburse customers.

    @jojoh

Hello, Yes I know that it works well on some Macs (on the Mac Pro job, no problem) but on my Mac Book Pro 17 inch OSX 10.10.5 Firefox 45.0, nothing to do. Incompatibility with graphics card, mother, something else? You’ll find out.

Silverlight works correctly on other sites, not the Swisscom web tv site, it remains frozen on the home page. Silverlight is a failure anyway, commercially and technically.

    Hello everyone,

We also noted the disruption announced on this subject. Indeed, some Mac users who access Swisscom TV Online are partially incentivized to upgrade to Silverlight, even though this has already been done. In addition, for some users, the TV Guide is not displayed (white or blue screen). This situation can occur with Safari or Firefox browsers. We recommend affected users to carry out the manipulations previously indicated by LeylaG. Depending on the situation, the error will be corrected.

To resolve this disruption, we are currently developing a new product that works without Silverlight. If all goes well, a beta test will be offered to the public this spring. However, we do not have further information and development may be delayed. We will communicate details to you as soon as possible.

    Cordialement

    Good evening,

Finally I went ahead and followed the procedures given by LeylaG. So I deleted the caches and cookies, deleted the Silverlight plugin which was in the “Library/Internet Plug-ins”, then I restarted swisscom TV and reinstalled Silverlight and it works.

    THANKS

    Hardware: Mac (Retina 5K, 27 inches, late 2015) / OS X El Capitan v 10.11.3/ Safari v 9.0.3

    Hello NathalieSI,

Thank you for this response. The various manipulations proposed have not changed anything on my Mac swisscom TV online still does not work.

So I’m looking forward to a very next version without silverlight and if you need beta testers, let me know! 😉

    Good day

    Good morning

I have a FIREFOX 45.01 and SAFARI 9.0.3 but it is impossible to see Swisscom TV on my Mac.

It still asks to install SILVERLIGHT.

    Once installed, nothing changes.

    Thank you for your comments

Frankly, we’re fed up with this Silverlight and having to use 2 browsers

I can’t wait for Swisscom to use HTML5, because in 2016 Silverlight is a bit loose for a No1 operator

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem.. It works once in 4.. I tried uninstalling Silverlight and reinstalling it.. I checked the plugins, I restarted my Mac and I even completely reinstalled my OS (factory reset)
But the problem remains, nothing changes…
Have any of you found the answer to this problem?
