The answer is clear. But you can help me @Anonymous by giving me the following nslookups of yours.

Then I’ll do attempt 2 🙂

I hope that’s enough…

I need appboot.netflix.com

nrdp.nccp.netflix.com

api-global.netflix.com

secure.netflix.com

If anyone finds a solution to use the existing Init7 Netflix cache as a Swisscom customer, please publish it here or PM me. Based on my understanding of traffic/transit procedures between ISPs, I don’t assume that this will work. If so, so much the better.

Thank you for the answers. Unfortunately, the small chance doesn’t work.

It’s built in the classic way with round robin. The decision where to go is made on a server.

Hence attempt 3 🙂

Can someone do a reverse DNS lookup (of his IP) for me? I still have a small card in my hand 🙂

@Tux0ne: I’ll send you my details via PM. By the way: I’ve subscribed to Netflix for about a quarter now. First on a traditional xDSL subscription (UL/DL: 10/1 MBit/s) and now also combined with ALLIP on a Vivo-S subscription. (20/4) And I’ve never had any problems with Netflix. So wrong. Before Vivo-S I had activated IPv6 6RD on the Fritzbox. This never worked with IPv6. But that was more of testing and tinkering than a well-founded investigation. With v4 only it really works for me without any significant interruptions. Very rarely does it need to be reloaded. Most of the time / for several days and since Vivo-S it was jerk-free and in visually good quality.

You don’t have to send me any more reverse lookup entries.

I can change mine, but it hasn’t helped. I can’t really pretend to be an Init 7 customer. 🙂

With Netflix, there are hardly any buffer interruptions during transmission. There would be something really cool.

The adaptive stremaing is also really good. Maybe it’s also because of my TV that I hardly see any difference between 480p, 720p, 1080p and UHD during the film. (It’s logical if you jump from 480 to UHD) The picture is always relatively good.

But technically you often don’t get the full quality and sometimes if things get really bad, the film doesn’t start at all.

I have now noted the quality range and special incidents for each asset. That’s not satisfactory at prime time.

On the PC there is the option to see the stream details - simply press Control-Alt-Shift-D. I’m not yet aware of such options on my SmartTV.

@doom2

You can usually see the resolution on a SmartTV. display with the info button.

I still had a problem on the SmartTV regardless of this thread.

I have a dual session WAN from Swisscom with a fixed IP. When I operated my network normally using port forwarding to the firewall (Ethernet), everything worked wonderfully.

But if I activated the PPPoE passthrough on the firewall, everything worked, Netflix on the SmartTV and only on this one didn’t want to work 😞 The error codes of the Netflix application were meaningless codes, which ultimately all indicate a problem with the internet connection “Thanks”

I checked everything using every means available to me and couldn’t find the error.

Until it hit me again this Saturday. So search google again. There were reports with clients on Nintendo or PS hardware that indicated an MTU problem.

Well, I already had the MTU on the firewall set to 1492 out of habit, I know that much about PPPoE.

So check what really works. And voila. The maximum MTU for me is 1488, 4 bits are still lost because of the VLAN over FTTH. MTU set, SmartTV Client works perfectly again (as well as possible with an SC line).

Just in case someone has a problem like this…

@Tux0ne: thanks for the tip. I only use the SmartRemote… it doesn’t have an info button and so far this remote control has been sufficient. But Info also brings exactly the information I want on my Tizen SmartTV 🙂

Show original language (German)

Yes, the “Info” button gives you a completely different overview:smileyhappy:

In the UHD range, everything is possible between 480 and 2160. Depending on the time of day.

It could be 352 for the rest.

Very unsightly, if not really bad…

I contacted customer service twice using the form. I have a 20/4 subscription which is actually enough.

2 times I received the same idiotic answer:

"

Good afternoon Mr. XXX

You have contacted us. Thank you for your inquiry.

We have checked your situation and found that you have the lowest profile switched on: VIVO LIGHT copper max: 5 Mbit/s (download) and 1 Mbit/s (upload). To stream Netflix, this “not so fast” connection can limit. You have a very good and well-developed line at your location. But you also have to adjust your profile. This means you have to upgrade to a higher quality product in order to enjoy faster internet.

You can reach us at any time by phone on 0800 800 800. This means we can give you comprehensive advice and find the best solution tailored to your needs.

We wish you a successful start into the new year.

Kind regards to Worb c4reply
Swisscom (Switzerland) AG

Incidentally, I have a 100 profile switched2016-01-18 19_08_17-FRITZ!Box 7490.png

Then it is claimed twice that I have a 5Mb subscription, even though I have a 20Mb subscription.

I’m slowly getting tired of arguing with these types of chicks

I’m slowly thinking about changing provider. I’ve heard that green has a Netflix cache server

Show original language (German)

That’s not the profile that is switched, that’s the “technical bandwidth”. The modem connects with the fastest possible bandwidth. I think if Swisscom says that you only have a 5/1 line (even 2x) then this should also be true.

What does Kundencenter say?
What does speedtest.net say?

Show original language (German)

@MichelZ3

That’s clear to me too, but I can measure and I get exactly 20Mb down and 4MB up and I can also check this in the Kundencenter like this:

2016-01-19 08_21_02-Swisscom - Kundencenter.png

and the speed checker shows the following:

2016-01-19 08_24_46-Internet_ DSL subscription offers & internet connection from Swisscom.png

Why they end up with 5Mb is a mystery to me. But as I said, I’m slowing down and will study what green has to offer
