  • [MAC] Access your hard drive connected to the Internet Box via VPN (outside home)

    Hello everyone!

After much research and experimentation, I found a solution to be able to connect to your hard drive connected to your Internet Box (in other words: connect to the Central Memory or even connect to the Applications Module).

Update 22.10.2019 11:00: This tutorial is intended for a connection with a Mac.

Step 1: Establish a VPN connection between your computer and your Internet-Box

To do this, you can follow this tutorial already offered by Swisscom:

    [https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/internet/vpn-server.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/internet/vpn- server.html)

Step 2: Connect to your hard drive (connected to the Internet-Box via USB)(From a Mac)

    To do this:

    1) Click on the Finder, then in the taskbar (top of the screen), click on Go, then Connect to server…

    2) in Server address, type smb:// followed by the IP address of the applications Module

    Example: smb://123.456.789.012

    ---————-

To find the IP address of the Applications Module:

    1) Type 192.168.1.1

    2) Log in

3)Go to Network/Settings and there you will be able to see the IP address of the Applications Module

    ---————-

    3) Then, click on connect

    ---————-

Tip: click on the “+” to keep it in your favorites

    ---————-

I hope this addition to the Swisscom tutorial will help you.

In my opinion we can find an even cleaner and more effective solution but in the meantime it is the only solution that allows me to resolve this problem and I wanted to share it for those who are struggling, like me!

    See you soon!
