thank you very much for the thread. Have read it. The technician who was here today called Swisscom and was told that the signal strength here was too weak. It would need at least -90DB, otherwise it wouldn’t work. I’m not so sure if this statement is correct.

Why was the first booster able to establish a connection to the transmission tower, but no data traffic to the IB2, and the new booster (outer part is now black) only keeps flashing red. Doesn’t a specific radio cell have to be released for every new booster that is installed?

The technician said I should try again when the weather is nice. I’ll do it and maybe call the hotline for the X number of times.

  • Hello

My son and I tested the LTE reception with his cell phone everywhere in the house. It shows him a maximum of 2 out of 5 lines, but sometimes the signal changes to H+. But the booster should have a better antenna. It is now installed in the best location and connected to the IB2 via WLAN.

  • Internet-Booster

  • Hello everyone

After I did the availability test for the Internet-Booster, which showed me that up to 65 Mb/s downloud is possible, I ordered and installed it. Due to the long copper wire supply, there are currently only 3 to 5 Mb/s. I was happy about the higher speed.

But unfortunately things turned out differently. After a few phone calls to Swisscom and two visits from two technicians, it was discovered that the connection to the cell phone tower was too weak.

The technician measured 90 to 100 dB, which is too weak. The booster was replaced twice. The first one at least connected to the transmission tower, but did not transfer any data to the IB2. The second booster no longer connects at all.

Shouldn’t the second booster have to be released, or can you just press another one onto the window?

If this is the case because the reception signal is too weak, Swisscom would have to adapt the availability test for the Internet booster.

Who can say anything about that? Thanks.

    • Haben Sie den überall im Haus überprüft ob das Signal zum Sendemast schlecht ist, selber sieht man das auch mit dem eigenen Handy, wenn Du eines hast was wird da angezeigt?
