But you have to be aware of the consequences, i.e. only suitable for someone who knows exactly what the difference is between POP3 and IMAP.
In general, IMAP is to be preferred because it is more modern and has more advantages than disadvantages. For those in the know, mixed operation of POP3 and IMAP is also possible.
