Here’s the short version:
For Föteli, the security, which only consists of a user/password, is sufficient.
If you want to store other more confidential data there, we recommend encrypting the data locally before uploading.
myCloud is simply a by-product of the Swisscom Business Cloud that is made available free of charge to “not particularly worthy of protection” 0815 users just by looking at it.
So use it only for fetuses, encrypt it yourself, or leave it be…
P.S.: I forgot: From a marketing perspective, the data is kept safe enough simply because it is guaranteed to be stored in Switzerland…
Hobby-Nerd ohne wirtschaftliche Abhängigkeiten zur Swisscom
Hello everyone
There is no absolute security and accordingly no one can give such a guarantee. However, all necessary measures have been taken to prevent theft of customer information in the future, as in the recent case. The security of customer data has the highest priority within Swisscom. Looking back, however, we have to conclude that the security requirements in this specific case were not sufficient to prevent criminal access. We apologize to our customers for this.
In order to protect myCloud user data from unauthorized access, comprehensive precautions have been taken, including:
- Encryption during data transmission
- Option for 2-factor authentication
- Data center certifications
- Regular security analyzes and penetration tests by external companies
Best regards
Nina
One has nothing to do with the other,
All cloud storage should be considered public. It’s not just Swisscom that can have data stolen. (No passwords were stolen and the data was not stolen from Swisscom, but from a partner!).
It is much more important that you have a good password and that you change it regularly. We also use a different password for other accesses.
You see that you can/should do a lot to ensure the security of your data.
Because ultimately you are responsible for your data.
MyCloud is not a crypto safe.
Yes, apparently, I no longer receive an SMS when logging in - the login is no longer with double authentication! Even though it was set up this way, was anything changed? Where can I set up this double authentication again? Is this no longer possible since the login was switched to Swisscom Login? Thank you for accurate information

Hello @m79
This should still work. If you have switched from Passeport, you would have to reactivate it on Swisscom login. You can find this in Kundencenter. SMS and MobileID are supported.
Let me know if it worked.
Greetings
Silvan
