F-Secure virus software in the Swisscom package

  • I have a PW management software that actually works well, but I occasionally have problems with the login. But they have a decent helpline and someone there asks me about the virus software and whether I can add the software that sometimes causes problems to the list of “approved” software in my virus software. I’ve never consciously done anything like that, who can help? Where can I find which software is already saved as “allowed” in F-Secure? Thanks for help

Well, Swisscom is experienced in promoting products that have no right to exist.

Just think of the notoriously delinquent Swisscom Directories AG, who employs a whole army of salespeople who have to lie day in and day out because their products would be completely unsaleable if the benefits were not fantasized 😉

And your post is of course completely correct: get rid of F-Secure and at least save yourself from wasting money in the future by canceling “mySecurity”.

Simply forget F-Secure, or Internet Security at Swisscom, completely, because this additional software is no longer useful for a long time and tends to just cause unnecessary trouble.

Simply cancel and uninstall it as completely as possible.

This means that the virus protection measures and additional security functions already pre-installed in Windows 10/11 by Microsoft as the operating system manufacturer also come into play again, and they are at least as good, if not better, than any third-party product, and in any case cause far fewer problems than any third-party products, because who can know an operating system better than the manufacturer itself 🙂

The issue of external virus protection products has actually been a pure seller’s market for a long time, which has to make an enormous effort to find any justification for their continued existence in order to retain any legitimacy on the market.

The fundamental decision against third-party products was actually made a few years ago, when many large companies decided to throw out all installations of Norton, MacAffee, etc. and only rely on Microsoft’s own security features.

I still have 5 Livelong licenses from Bitdefender in my portfolio, which actually no longer have any running costs, but have never been used for years 🙂
