5G Booster and g.Fast

  • It’s always said here that the booster doesn’t work with gFast. However, there are always contributions from people for whom the booster helps despite gFast

    The Swisscom Checker also has lines that have gFast (over 100 Mbit/s) and still offer the booster

    Is there an official answer to this somewhere, does the booster work with gFast or not?

    • No, there are no official statements because we don’t talk about copper technologies to the customer (since 97% wouldn’t understand it).

      It is built so that g.Fast and Booster work together. But there are constellations where they bite each other. Don’t ask what they are, it could have something to do with the home network, RFI in the area, etc… it works, or it doesn’t. I only have a handful of customers for whom it works and the booster provides an add-on to g.Fast. But it’s certainly not the case that there is a lock somewhere that prevents the booster from running when the router syncs to g.Fast.

      If you want to try it for yourself (and also need the speed… LOL), you have 2 weeks to give the booster back if you don’t like it 😁

      Stability will be the focus in the future. The target of 1gbps via Fix/Mobile, which was once communicated, is no longer relevant.

    @NilsL

    I had the 5G booster to test and it was mentioned that “g-fast” would be supported in the future and it looks like that is probably the case now.

    This post mentioned 5G booster with “g.fast”.
