Synchronization between Apple Mail app and Swisscom Mail

  • After the forced change to Bluewin Email Basic, the synchronization between Bluewin Mail and the Apple Mail apps (desktop and mobile) no longer works adequately. Emails that were read or deleted in the mobile app are still unchanged in both the desktop mail app and the browser version. If email is no longer included in the expensive Swisscom subscription and is billed separately, it should at least work.

Before you get there, mail accounts outside of Bluewin continue to work without any problems. So it’s not a general problem.

    • Do you happen to have IOS18? There are reports of problems with IMAP.

You’ve come to the wrong place to complain because the community is for “customers helping customers”.

I have an Apple and Windows PC and synchronization works without any problems, all settings are set with IMAP.

In the POP3 process, messages are copied from the server by an email program and then (usually) deleted on the server. IMAP, on the other hand, saves emails on the mail server, but the email program only displays them. Which method you use is a setting in your email program.

The accounts are correctly configured as IMAP. After several hours, the synchronization finally took place. Since this error hasn’t occurred for the first time, I’ve taken the liberty of posting it here.

Since it only affects the Bluewin accounts and only since the changeover took place a few days ago, it must be a Swisscom problem.

PS: I am aware that this is about technical issues. But if a well-functioning system is adapted and is no longer included in the basic price, then I at least expect the quality to remain the same. That’s not the case here and I don’t need any instructions!
