A software update is available for your TV boxes, which will be distributed to all Swisscom TV customers in stages over the next four weeks.

Our customers expect the following innovations:

Swisscom TV in the new look with Dark UI

For a more pleasant display in a dark environment or for more contrast on the TV-Box, we are introducing a dark appearance on the TV-Box with the “Dark UI”. Under “Settings” à “General Settings” à “Appearance” you can now choose whether the Swisscom TV user interface should be light or dark and can thus individually adjust your preferred display.

Automatically turn on your TV with HDMI-CEC

With the HDMI-CEC feature, one of the biggest customer requests in recent years is coming to the TV-Box. With HDMI-CEC, your television is turned on when you turn on your box and turned off when you put the TV-Box into standby. Switching the TV on and off can be adjusted separately. You can find the HDMI-CEC settings and detailed information about the feature under “Settings” à “System” à “HDMI-CEC” on the TV-Box.

IMDb ratings for films

Many of you have asked for it, now it has arrived on Swisscom TV: With the latest software version, IMDb ratings for most films on Live TV, Replay TV, in the recordings and in the VoD Store will now also be available on your TV-Box .

YouTube in UHD quality (UHD box only)

The latest version of the YouTube app on the UHD TV-Box now allows you to play YouTube videos in UHD quality. Corresponding videos on YouTube can be played provided your internet speed is high enough and your television supports video content in UHD quality (can be checked under “Settings” à “System” à “UHD Assistant”).

Various improvements to the software

The update also includes various improvements and smaller innovations to the software. The season and episode information for episodes of series is now displayed in the info bar during playback and problems with green-purple distorted screens, which required a restart of the TV-Box, have also been resolved.

The new software will be installed on all TV boxes in the next two weeks.
