Short picture interruptions (ant image) on Swisscom TV

  • For a few days now there have been very short interruptions in the picture at very irregular intervals. An “ant image” will then appear for 1 second or less. I’m not sure if all channels are affected. I noticed it especially on SF1HD and SF2HD. It can’t be the cable connections, because if they are interrupted the picture stops and there is no “ant picture”.

Is it the signal coming into my house, or could it be the TV-Box?

      Hello

Had a very similar problem. For me it was the HDMI cable between TV-Box and TV. What was exciting was that the disruptions were not associated with touching the cable.

But I replaced the HDMI cable and now there are no more problems.

(For the test I used the HDMI cable from DVD player -> TV because at first I didn’t want to believe that it was the cable)

That’s exactly what I had once too. New HDMI cable and it never happened again.

what kind of box do you have?

To me that sounds like either a defect in the box or the TV.

As a test, connect the box via Scart. Could be a problem with HDMI.

If you rewind too soon after the ant picture, does it come back?

If none of this is of any use, you should

do it like me. I received a new TV-Box and a new WiFi device

and as an experiment the WiFi was swapped with a different brand. Good luck

There is no ant image in the signal. This couldn’t have been recorded. The “digital noise” is finer than the known analogue noise and arises during the signal transmission path.

A new box and connection kit is just a solution for support if they don’t know what to do next. Get a new HDMI cable and you’ll be fine. If your cable does not yet have gold connectors, have the hotline send you one with gold connectors and you will have peace of mind (unless one of the connector sockets is causing the error, which would be extremely rare.)

Thank you for pointing this out, I know that ants come from the analogue.

    Hence the question about rewinding.

To me it sounds like a glitch on the TV. Even on DVB there are no pictures of ants.

The TV may briefly switch to analog, for whatever reason.

@tukan: did you only connect HDMI?

    Hello

I’ve also had the problem for a few days that when I’m looking at something, the picture goes black for a second and then runs again and goes black again and it does that again and again. Every now and then there is this white-gray noise like with the analogue before. Then every now and then the message “check HDMI cable” appears.

I have 2 boxes and this only happens with one box. I assume that my HDMI cable is also giving up, right? Otherwise both boxes would certainly be affected, right?

Can I get a new one from Swisscom for free or do I have to buy a new one?

What do I have to consider when buying? I’ve previously looked at various Internet shops. There are so many different ones at different prices. What do I have to pay attention to when buying a good HDMI cable?

Do you happen to have glass?

Because I have the same thing with the black screen and every technician says something different, i.e. router software is not the best, or something is wrong at the control center, or or— only anyone can help, at least at the moment (or I don’t want to) I feel like a guinea pig either way, because I’ve had the problem with reception (black screen, freezer and now slow pixel build-up when switching) since the beginning.

So now I’ve let my frustration out once again, but it’s no use:smileytongue:

I’ve been using a different HDMI cable for a few days now. The problem has not occurred since then. I now hope that this solves the problem and thanks for the helpful tips!
