Licences blocked for 90 days

  • Hello everyone
My wife has had a new iPhone since October (SIM card taken over). However, she can’t use the TV app because three devices have apparently been changed in the last few days. I have also reinstalled an iPhone belonging to a deceased person and tested TV. After this test, this device was set up again and sold (without SIM card).
This licence is now also blocked. Why these restrictions “maximum three device changes” and then a 90-day block? I can still use 3 of the 5 licences, so I wouldn’t be able to buy a new iPhone and use TV. At least not before the end of January.

Doesn’t sound bad. For an extra charge of 5 francs you can skip the adverts.

Thank you and have a nice weekend

Unfortunately, Swisscom still has the most customer-unfriendly restrictions of all Swiss IPTV providers for the blue TV app when it comes to switching devices from mobile devices.

This has been heavily criticised for years by “victims”, most of whom find themselves in this situation completely unexpectedly.
Unfortunately, however, no one has yet succeeded in convincing Swisscom to abandon this “customer mortification”, which all customers find completely incomprehensible and which has been completely outdated for some time now.

I have no idea whether it will ever be possible to successfully cut through this internal Swisscom Gordian knot with regard to mobile IPTV usage.

PS: Funnily enough, this very restrictive blue TV switching regulation only applies to mobile small-screen devices and not to stationary big-screen devices.
So you could change smart TV sets, Swisscom TV boxes, Apple TV boxes, Android TV boxes, etc. hundreds of times a day without any problems and their blue TV app would still work 😀

      Hello DanielD

I am already aware of that. There are 3 active devices. Apparently I have reconfigured too often and adding devices is now blocked for 90 days.

      Thank you

        Hello Werner

I’m experiencing the same thing at the moment. I’ll probably have to wait for the 90 days. I’ve already stopped trying customer service.
I’m not obliged to buy and use my new iPhone from Swisscom.

I might as well get to know what another provider has to offer …

Thanks for your information and have a nice day

If you are looking for a customer-friendly IPTV alternative or interim solution:

Teleboy TV for CHF 11.90/month can be installed as an app on any number of devices (large devices and mobiles) and the only usage limit is simply 5 simultaneous parallel streams per account.
It can also be cancelled monthly.

You can actually skip adverts with all providers anyway, because it’s really only about the special additional replay adverts and not much happens there anyway.

What is not normal is that the system does not behave as described.

The limit of 3 changes has already been activated even though you have not yet reached the limit of 5 registered devices.
The worst thing is that it’s impossible to know what the status of this day counter is and you’re being blocked without being able to predict it.

Let’s wait and see. Advertising really annoys me. The new iPhone won’t be available until Christmas anyway 🙂 I can still think about it.
