@roman70 Yep, it’s like that, it’s also confirmed by @Stephan_76’s Snip, there was a real outcry at the time, which is probably why the customers at the time left it like that Top packages remain the same even when changing from L to XL.

Who actually cares about your irrelevant opinion that completely misses the point? In the USA I was also allowed to watch CNN and MSNBC, the left-wing “fake news channels par excellence”. But since these are left-wing stations, they tell the pure truth from morning to evening. At least if you believe our left-wing MSM. 😂 And imagine: the broadcasters also tell their left-wing audiences what they like to hear all day long. Because Comcast and Warner also do not operate the channels for charitable purposes. But just keep dreaming…
On the topic: Do I seriously have to subscribe to the IT package if I want to watch Fox News for the US elections? Or is there another option here? A few years ago I was able to watch the channel without a package.
@Friofleiffau61 No, there is no other option with Swisscom and other Swiss providers do not have this channel. That’s it.

Hello everyone
I think I don’t contribute much to the topic or can’t offer a solution. But I have spent half of my life in Scottsdale AZ. FOX News is not necessarily the best source for getting neutral information (America First). For local news that is both important and unimportant, Fox is perfect. For the US elections I would recommend ABC, CBS or CNN. As far as I know, CNN is also on SW. This means you stay up to date with factual and journalistically good material.
As far as I know, there is no provider for US TV in Switzerland. Does anyone know why this is the case? I know a lot of expats who would love to watch a round of Judge Judy or The Price is Right in the evening.
Greetings Deppi
Daupechio48 No, there are no Swiss providers for ABC, not CBS, for CNN yes (e.g. Swisscom). ABC news and CBS news
is available online and there are also a few apps that do this. But among the main channels I haven’t found anything that works without a subscription or VPN.
CBS News - Breaking news, 24/7 live streaming news & top stories
ABC News - Breaking News, Latest News and Videos (go.com)
But there is the offshoot channel CBS reality on Swisscom, which is broadcast from the UK, where Judge Judy runs almost all day in different seasons 😀
The channel is included in the following Swisscom subscriptions:
Unfortunately, “The price is right” is only available in the British version (old episodes) “Bruce’s price is right”, on the channel “Challenge”, which is available in the same subscriptions.

Hi @Gaeilgeoir
Wow, thank you so much for your input, I’ll check this out tonight and maybe a new community has just been made happy with this post!! Great news.
Thank you very much.
While we’re at it, two US channels have now been added to Hotbird 13° East:
- One America News Network “OAN”
- Triton Poker Series
One America News Network would fit well with Fox News 😉
The US news channel “One America News” is also known as “OAN”. OAN was founded in 2013 and is based in San Diego, California. One America News also maintains offices in Washington D.C. and New York. The channel offers US and international news from politics, business and the entertainment business. One America News is known for its conservative viewpoint and is often cited as one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters. This is obvious just by looking at the reports on the presidential campaign.
Hi @Daupechio48 I just wrote it in the channel name thread, CBS Reality is now called “True Crime”, the old name is still in the channel list, but True Crime is shown as the channel logo, not that you’re surprised.
Judge Judy is also available on TLC in German, with the original in the background. If it’s not the best, then the original is better.

Cannot be received via satellite in Europe and is not interesting for local providers via the Internet because it is not freely accessible or not of acceptable quality.
The following 4 transponders can be received in Switzerland:
The problem is that the program is encrypted.
For Hotbird, for example, Swisscom would need a decoder card from Sky Italia
For Astra 3B and 3C, Swisscom would need a decoder card from mts
Are the providers willing to provide Swisscom with a decoder card? SKY Italia in particular is said to be not very cooperative. The Italian language package is rather poor.
Oh, yes, you can’t get the satellites with footprint USA in Europe. But FOX News is also encrypted on the US satellites. The only satellite where Fox News currently runs unencrypted is Intelsat 34 at 55.5° West. However, in Switzerland a bowl size of certainly 120 cm is required. Without reserve for bad weather. At least 1.50m is probably necessary so that something can get in even when it rains.
I thought I once heard that Swisscom has restrictions on how big the dishes can be. I thought it was over at 1 meter.
@Kampioffautt44 No, not here, or rather extremely rarely and Swisscom practically doesn’t comment at all on changes to the program packages or channel listings. The forum is designed as a “customers helping customers” forum, not as an “I ask - Swisscom answers” forum, which can be regretted. but it is like that.
