Email password is not recognized every time

  • Good morning

I’ve been paying close attention to all the discussions about the new e-mail at swisscom.

    very interesting……..

I was also very happy with the “old” version!!

But I’ve gotten used to the new thing now.

    now my problem:

I access my two Swisscom email addresses via Thunderbird and or Betterbird on the PC.

    both Linux and Windows 11.

The corresponding programs aquamail and fairmail are on the cell phone.

Now I have the problem that the password for the two email accounts doesn’t seem to be recognized every time with all email programs.

You will be asked to enter the correct password.

    which is already set!!

The following warning also appears under fairmail:

    >>[UNAVAILABLE] Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceede.

    (mail_max_userip_connections=10)<<

After a while the system recognizes the passwords and everything works as it should.

Since I spend a lot of time abroad and rely on emails, it would be nice if someone could help me.

I have other email accounts outside of Swisscom and the problem doesn’t exist there.

Thank you in advance and have a nice week

Is it possible that after opening the email you no longer close the email program and then several email programs are open at the same time?

      Translation of your error message.

[UNAVAILABLE] Maximum number of user+IP connections exceeded. (mail_max_userip_connections=10)<<

N.b. I use Thunderbird on Windows, Apple and Linux systems and don’t know this problem.

    thanks for the prompt reply.

that could be. especially with cell phone email apps.

I have them on two cell phones.

I’ll split the two apps between the two cell phones.

    and will report back again.

ps: it worked without any problems before switching to the new swisscom e-mail.

first of all thank you very much

Google has some information about this error message.

Too many clients are accessing this email account from your IP at the same time. In the worst case scenario, it could be that you have caught a mailbot, which wouldn’t be good?

      WABU

      I’ve tried a few things.

All email programs stopped on PC and cell phones.

tried for both accounts one after the other:

Logged into my swisscom and tried to access webmail.

Connection takes a long time or doesn’t work at all.

In this case, all email programs ask for the password.

Stopped all email programs manually again.

As soon as the connection to webmail is established, the logins work again.

      for all email programs.

So the problem seems to be with webmail, right

Normally, the WEB-Mail does not have to be open so that external email programs with different password can access it.

Assume we are already talking about external email programs with their own password, not the password from WEB-Mail and Kundencenter login?

No, no, it’s about the passwords for the email programs.

It was just trying to understand how it works.

I just wanted to describe that if webmail has no connection (controlled via myswisscom) the problem occurs with the passwords of the e-mail programs.

      I checked this several times.

Every time, as described, a connection to webmail was not possible or was very delayed, the problems arose.

And as you can see on the print screen, webmail even has internal problems with authorization.

      I hope that’s understandable.

thank you very much for your effort

Yes, in this case I don’t have a solution myself.

Maybe someone else has an idea, otherwise contact Support 0800 800 800.

_As I said, I can’t understand this problem myself and it wasn’t mentioned here in the community before?

I can’t understand the problem either, but the problem has already been mentioned here in the community:

First of all, thank you very much to everyone

yes, it is a new Android phone

I have implemented what is recommended in the link

      [https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/E-Mail/E-Mail-Synchronization Error/m-p/841233](https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/E-Mail/E-Mail-Synchronization Error/ m-p/841233)

So far so good, it seems like it’s getting better.

      still doesn’t work reliably.

      but would have to!!

      january……

I still think that the problem also lies with the swisscom server.

since the whole thing only appeared with the switch to the new webmail.

Of course I don’t know anything about it.

Thank you again and have a nice week
