There is only one free email account with 1GB**_ and if you want the basic version then it costs.

Maybe that’s no longer possible today. But before, I set it up like this for my Eltern.

Light remains light. And if not, please adjust the graphic (arrow from Light to Basic).

We are customers like you and me and cannot make changes, but we can help where we have good knowledge.

In any case, you have to move one of the email accounts to a separate Swisscom login if you still want it for free.

Actually, customers who automatically switch to a paid Basic Mail should be informed individually in June. (Background: So that there is no special right of termination when the additional costs are introduced at the end of August)

However, this individual customer information is e.g. For example, it hasn’t happened to me yet.

I could therefore also imagine that various things in this project are already behind schedule and therefore need to be reconsidered internally at Swisscom and possibly adjusted again.

From our customers’ perspective, my recommendation would be:

Just keep waiting until you actually receive an individual cover letter about the new basic email.

Since nothing has happened since the announcement in April, I used the time to study the new (undated) “Email Subscription Terms of Use”. Maybe there is a lawyer among you who understands the sometimes awkward gibberish. Regarding the much-discussed transferring of email addresses to yourself, see the article below

6. Transfer of email accounts (including email addresses)
An email account can be removed from an email subscription and transferred to another Swisscom email subscription in My Swisscom. If a previous user of an email account requests that it be transferred to them, they can

I have now thought about the text of paragraph 6 for quite a long time and have come to the conclusion that it only makes sense if the terms user and contract holder are clearly differentiated from one another.

On this basis, my interpretation of the content is as follows:

With this section, Swisscom secures the right to use individual email addresses of other clearly identifiable natural persons who are currently in a shared subscription with the contract owner, even against the will of the formal contract owner, at the explicit request of the “real” user of an email address to be able to remove it from the “community subscription”.

A practical use case for this would be, for example, a divorce with two or more email addresses within a shared email subscription, which should now be distributed between two independent people and two different logins.

If this required the consent of the previous contract owner in any case, he would otherwise be able to monopolize all email addresses previously used in the family exclusively for himself in the long term.

The new bluewin webmail is still completely undeveloped, the problems:

- Switching on takes far too long compared to before

- the constant request to redownload the app. The app is hardly renewed every day!!!

- I can’t easily find my previous emails anymore

- Under “Sent” the first thing I see is my name instead of the recipient’s!

The following functions have been completely eliminated:

- Function forwarding to a second email address

- Function marking important emails

I’m turning more and more away from my Bluewin email. There are definitely better email providers and they’re free too… so guys, I don’t want to discuss it anymore.

Bluewin can only catch up if you learn from free email providers
