What’s new is the Google store for additional applications in addition to those provided by Swisscom. You don’t have to register with the Google Store. If your goal is to terminate your contract because of Google and look elsewhere, be aware that other operators’ boxes are also provided with Google’s OS.

Forcing acceptance of the Google T&Cs is rather limiting and comes on top of other unwanted changes such as the change in the minimum TV offer from 5.- to 14.90 under the pretext of improving service.

It would be nice if this update was optional or if Swisscom offered a basic box without all these unnecessary functions for many customers.
