I have the latest version based on Android TV or Android 12 on a TV Box 5 (IP2300) and an IP 2100. In terms of functionality, it is progress. When it comes to starting up the boxes, in my experience it’s a massive step backwards. I always completely disconnect the TV and TV box from the power when I’m not using either. This means that the TV boxes restart every time. And it’s exactly this start that is massively slower with Android TV than before. I have the impression (based on the screens displayed) that this has to do with the fact that when booting, Android TV is first loaded, then the Swisscom interface. Finally, Android TV always loads data again. All of this makes starting up tough and tedious. However, leaving the box in standby mode is not an option for me. Instead, I hope that Swisscom will make further optimizations here.

I’ve been hoping for this myself for over a year, because the long cold start times were already noticed in the alpha test of TV-Box 5.

By the way, the cold start times have improved slightly over the last 15 months and at least the box no longer crashes straight away and restarts a second time if you press a remote control button within the first 30 seconds of the first cold start 🙂

I wouldn’t actually expect massive improvements, but as we all know, hope always dies last.

I also have the bug with the 2nd restart 😂

But your experiences don’t give you much confidence. Shame and annoying. Because I actually found the Swisscom TV boxes so far to be quite usable to good.

Strictly speaking, it was 40 seconds that I had to wait with the FB to prevent a second restart 🙂

My post referred to the audio/Toslink problem.

It’s not so good if you don’t specify a problem and use it on several different threads without any hints.

If it’s about the TV-Box 5 which no longer has audio Anschluss, there may be a solution with the module at the link.

I have that problem too. After starting up the box is really ready for this. Before the update, the picture was often there before the sound and everything was delayed at the beginning.

The problem is exactly given by the answer link.

And no, it’s not about the 5.0 box but about the older one with the Toslink.

I buy a product with features. If these are “removed” through updates, Swisscom will be happy to fix the bug or make the audio splitter available to buyers.

The fact that the new box no longer has two outputs is a different issue.

Then you have to switch to another product. E.g. the AppleTV box with the Blue app - but never achieves the ease of use of the Swisscom Box…..

By the way:
