During peak times, Swisscom reduces the 5G bandwidth for Wingo customers in favor of Swisscom customers
Insufficient download bandwidth (below 10 Mbps) of 5G Wingo subscription
Number: * Contract: *
I have been a Wingo customer since December 28, 2023. I changed my Lebara contract, which was three times cheaper, to Wingo-5G mainly because I want to have a download bandwidth of over 50 Mbps during peak times in Haute-Nendaz (holiday home). Unfortunately, during peak times (several hours) in the evening, I noticed bandwidths of less than 10 Mbps in both Haute-Nendaz and Zug Oberwil (screenshot of the measurement available). At other times of the day I have bandwidths of over 100 Mbps.
At the same time, I discovered through a Swisscom prepaid flat rate option with my other cell phone number (0*) that with this Anschluss and the same cell phone, bandwidths of over 50 Mbps are available even during peak times. It is therefore clear that the Wingo customer is treated approximately 5 times worse than the Swisscom customer. The subscription is not five times cheaper, but three times more expensive than the competition.
Why do I pay three times more for a 5G Wingo subscription when the bandwidth during peak times is exactly as bad as with Lebara?
