Hello @Lifriejitz37
Only Apple itself can tell you why they make different offers for different devices.

Hello @Lifriejitz37
Swisscom doesn’t do anything at all, because the AppleTV app comes from the Google Playstore and has no connection with Swisscom.
And we at Swisscom have exactly zero influence on what the app provider offers within its app and what it doesn’t.
You can simply install the same app from the Google Play Store on another Android TV device and then test it and you will see that the same app behaves exactly the same on a non-Swisscom device.
And then you can make sure that it is an AppleTV app problem.

The same Apple TV app with ZDF Select works at the same location on an Apple TV box, but not on the Swisscom TV Box. Geoblocking is certainly not the cause.
Android and tvOS are two different operating systems. You can’t compare that.
It could well be that the Android app has a bug. You just have to look at the reviews in the Android Play Store 1.5 out of 5 stars.
The error is very likely with Apple or the app. But in both cases, Apple is your contact.
Possibly You’re lucky and another user comes forward who can install the app on a TV and test it out.
Hello @Lifriejitz37
Can you make a video of your AndroidTV case where it works and then do the same on the TV Box5?
So that we can then send this feedback to Apple.

It’s best to follow the instructions from @UrsSch and send him the requested video - then he can ask Apple as Swisscom. Such requests can have a different impact than direct feedback from a customer.

So I explicitly checked the combination of the AppleTV app (TV-Box 5) and a subscription to ZDF Select again. I purchased the subscription on the German Apple account and activated the VPN on the TV-Box via the Nord VPN app in Germany. This allows me to play the content. In contrast to ARD plus, there is probably no separate app for ZDF select in the Google Store. As far as I know, both offers are officially limited to Germany/Austria for licensing reasons. Therefore, nothing will happen without the above procedure. It is simply important that you switch off VPN again after “use”. Otherwise, the TV-Box can no longer be started because the VPN is still active. Happened to me too. Then I got out of the black hole again using the Google button at the top left of the FB. By the way, the ORF TVthek also works this way (with reference to an Austrian IP address, content restricted to AT can be viewed).
