blue TV App now also available on Android/Google TV

Dear community

The blue TV app is now also available for televisions with Android/Google TV. You can download the app directly on your TV from the Google Play Store.

In addition to Samsung and LG TVs, you can also use the blue TV app on Smart TVs from Sony, Philips, Panasonic as well as on devices such as Chromecast 4, Nvidia Shield etc.

Here you can find out how to set up the blue TV app on your Smart TV. And did you know? With a TV-Box von Swisscom the TV experience is even better: with radio, teletext, HbbTV , consistent UHD quality and no delay in the live TV signal.

Best regards

Hello @NicoleH

What is this counted as? Does Android TV apply to televisions such as (TV-Box, Apple TV, Smart TV) or as an additional device such as a tablet or phone?

Is considered a “big screen”, so a TV stream (from the multiroom contingent) is required

The app probably hasn’t quite arrived in the Playstore yet…

The BlueTV app cannot be found in the Playstore on either a “CHiQ” Android TV or a “Strong Leap S1” Android set-top box…..

Maybe wait another 1-2 days?

Also in Dolby Digital 5.1? Then I would switch to the app, as the TV-Box unfortunately has an incredible delay in the sound.

The app has now arrived and is now running on the 2 devices mentioned above

I tested the app on an nvidia shield:

    - the live image is about 10 seconds behind the original box

    - 5.1 Sound is missing as is sometimes the case on appletv

    - Menu navigation like on the original box

@NicoleH the content on blue+ is not playable! Can you forward this?

I already have the Multiroom option (for 1 additional device) because I have 2 Swisscom TV boxes at home. I don’t want to replace this with my Chromecast with Google TV because the children are very familiar with the Swisscom remote control.

However, I would also like the app to run on the Chromecast with Google TV. For this I would also be willing to increase my multiroom subscription to the Max where up to 4 additional devices can be used. Since I mainly use the Chromecast on business trips and vacations, I now have a question before I upgrade to the Multiroom Max.

Can I also run the Blue tv app on the Chromecast with Google TV via hotel WiFi or mobile hotspot (via VPN abroad, of course)? Or is a Swisscom internet connection absolutely necessary for the app to work?

My strong guess would be that it works with the Chrome Cast in the same way as the Apple TV Box, i.e. even without a Swisscom internet connection.

In the end, the only thing that helps is trying things out.

As a test, you could temporarily replace one of your Swisscom TV boxes with Google TV and then try it out via a WiFi hotspot.

Unfortunately, direct channel selection using the number buttons on the remote control does not work in the app on my Philips Smart TV. Is this the case everywhere, or just a malfunction on my TV?

Seems to be so “normal”. On my son’s CHiQ TV, the number keypad doesn’t work in the Blue app either

One question is, is there an error in the Swisscom Blue app on Android TV/Google TV or does Swisscom want the Blue Sport content on the Swisscom tv Android TV/Google TV app to be available in both HD and UHD ( free) watch under Sport but it doesn’t work under TV Guide I don’t have a subscription through Swisscom on Android smartphone and Android tablet it doesn’t only work on Google TV and maybe on Android TV

I installed the app on my Nokia 8000 Streaming Box today. It actually works ok, but many private channels (e.g. Vox) don’t work because the “hourglass” for loading never stops turning! What can I do?

This is also called a live test 🙂

If the Android TV BigScreen app had been sent to the TV testers before the roll-out, this error could probably have been corrected.

However, the pressure of expectations for an Android TV app was probably so great in the meantime that the roll-out simply had to happen…

@Werner @But these are serious errors when blue+, Blue MAX-, blue premium-, for some blue sport- and apparently also the new replay advertising channels (VOX) don’t even work!!😯

The rewind buttons on the remote control don’t work either.
