Bluewin Mail: The selected account is not available

  • I have 4 blowin and 1 bluemail address.
In webmail I see all 5 addresses that work in bluewin, but with bluemail I get the error message:

The selected account is not available.

The PC and cell phone no longer synchronize with this account, the other addresses work.

    On MySwisscom the test shows:
Relevant metrics: Mail status: OK, Memory used: 1% of 5GB, Forwarding: Inactive

Previous posts about this error message show: This error message always had something to do with problems on the Swisscom side. (migrations, availability…)
However, nothing has been published on swisscom.ch/status and the call center agent (callback from MySwisscom) couldn’t help either.

Is there anything else I can try?

Callback from Swisscom Friday evening December 23rd! at 7 p.m.: The account is OK again. Two folders were corrupt and the account was therefore no longer available. The 2nd level was able to fix this with their tools.

Bingo! Webmail ok & cell phone/PC syncing again.
A closer inspection revealed that 2 folders with the corn in them had disappeared.

Interesting: On webmail & iPhone, but not in Outlook, there are now 2 folders with the name: lostandfound.1671813962..
It contains all the missing emails. The new emails are in your inbox. I sent myself regular emails to this account over the three days and wanted to know whether they all arrived after the disruption. It’s you.
It’s cool that the people at Swisscom are still processing open tickets on the Friday evening before Christmas(!).

      Cheers!

In this case, you need to follow up, call again and request that the case be escalated to 2nd level support.

I had 2 callbacks (yesterday & today) to MySwisscom, but they couldn’t help. The first one said I should change the password and try again, the second one pointed out a possible problem.

I now called 0800 800 800 and had a competent agent. He watched with GoTo Assist on my PC and verified my statements. No, the account is not blocked and it is not blocked because of spam. He is now passing my case to the 2nd level.

The callbacks also come from the employees at 0800 800 800. It really depends on who you get to. Even the information that you are now moving to the 2nd level is no guarantee of success. If you don’t receive feedback within 5-10 working days and the issue still exists, you’ll need to follow up again. It’s tedious, but it’s the only way to success.

    5-10 working days?

And I thought I’d put down the mulled wine and quickly log in to the server.

Unfortunately, this is my primary email address! Really uncomfortable…

There is no SLA for private customer connections and services, which means everything is just best effort. Correcting a fault can therefore take a few minutes or even several weeks.
