We modify the replay by arguing that we must watch the advertisements….

It costs fr. 6.90 per month / i.e. fr. 82.80 per year, if we want to be able to avoid them.

what we don’t say is that if we want to watch a sequence again (that I didn’t understand or hear well) I can’t go back, even for a few minutes. .

this function has also been disabled.

what is the relationship with advertising?

damn… before last night, after an update, I just saw all of the TV (public and commercial) deprived of forward and backward in the replay.

Swisscom offering me to change to a blue TV M or L subscription.
suffice to say, completely change the 3 in 1 pack.

the argument put forward in an article accessible from the menu: basically, a change of contract between TVs and operators.
making me feel like I was being taken for an idiot.

all TV 🙄

Please specify which FR channels would be impacted by this phenomenon?

Please also specify which TV subscription is active with Swisscom?

it’s called REPLAY, it’s an English term meaning:

- watch again

- go back

- watch a sequence

- etc.

>… what is the relationship with advertising?

if you do not subscribe to REPLAY Comfort -> advertising or other inconveniences when watching a program

it is exactly the same principle that has been adopted for a long time by YouTube, Spotify and other streaming platforms, Twitter will surely come to this and also all the other Swiss operators

In principle everything is free or almost, but with the disadvantages of invasive and untimely advertising breaks, by paying for a PREMIUM style version -> no advertising or other annoying disturbances 😀

Advertising on Replay with blue TV – Help | Swisscom

@merinos This is a pack from 2014 which is no longer sold and whose current correspondence is blue TV S which is also impacted by the new replay rules with the removal of the forward/backward functions in the show.

In this context, it should be interesting to study the opportunity to move to one of the blue home offers by optimizing all the services used.

You can do like me, right now I’m doing research to be able to watch what I want, for free on several streaming sites.

On some of these sites you also have TV shows and several sites like TSR allow you to watch podcast shows.

I think I will therefore cancel the TV subscription next year.

And this will also allow me to see old soap operas that we no longer see on all the channels provided, such as “Les Têtes brulés”, “Vidocq”, “Bowler hat and leather boots”, “Les mysteries of the west ”, “Stalag 13”, etc…..

Far more interesting than the M…. that we are being offered at the moment.

And above all, no more foreign channels that we don’t care about.

@merinos With the evolution of services we sooner or later have unpleasant surprises, typically with “lifetime” offers. We must always understand that life is that of the service and not that of the user!

When I see what happens to sports fans who find themselves having to subscribe to multiple (very expensive) packs to be able to follow all the competitions in a discipline, the increase is still reasonable.

Otherwise you have the strategy mentioned by @danydj, finding if the shows you like are also visible in streaming.

At the time, I signed up for a very normal offer.

for me, the real problem is that Swisscom is not able to announce the color directly and in advance, for certain subscriptions!

while then giving a dubious argument, not believing that a contract has been concluded for the Europe signal of TV5MONDE (clear on sat) as well as LCI (clear on TNT), for example… and that, as a member of ssrsr.ch, I have not seen anything happening regarding SRG SSR TV.

@Greifloppil47 It’s not the volume (electrical signal) that saturates, but they use dynamic compression which results in an attack on the ears!

This [CSA article](https://www.csa.fr/Cles-de-l-audiovisuel/Pratiquer/Utiliser-l-audiovisuel-numerique/Why-le-son-des-publicites-semble-t-il -stronger) explains how to do it. It’s legal, but unpleasant.

Good morning,

It’s particularly shocking and unacceptable to add a shitload of advertising to the replay when we already pay for a subscription.

Personally, I don’t want to be bothered by advertising, like it or not!

Also, paying 6.90 francs more to “just be able to skip” the advertising does not interest me at all.

I DON’T WANT ADVERTISING IF I PAY!

Should I fall back on Canalsat France to avoid all this bullshit or does paying the outrageous rate of 6.90 Frs completely exempt me from this bullshit advertising?

Thank you for your response.

Show original language (French)

@Tineido40 Advertising is injected into the broadcast signal by the TV signal provider, but this provider inserts a marker to identify advertising slots. Paying 6.90 for comfort replay allows you to use these markers to skip over this advertising slot without the addition of another additional “replay” advertisement.

On the other hand, this does not eliminate advertising if the program is allowed to run without intervention like traditional TV.

THANKS!

What bothers me is not not being able to skip ads when they are part of the program, but the addition of stupid ads into a program, like on YouTube.

So, I don’t care about not being able to skip the advert broadcast normally when I watch a program in replay…it will give me the opportunity to make myself a coffee by turning off the sound.

Hello @Tineido40

Even on CanalSat, there will be advertising. She’s everywhere, she ruins everything!

I don’t know how it works in France but in Switzerland myCANAL simply removed the replay so that we don’t have to pay to remove the advertising.

ESPECIALLY DO NOT PAY to remove advertising because if too many of us pay, they will find something else to shove their filthy advertising on us anyway.

p.s. We are also a little responsible. We always want more channels: we have to pay for this avalanche of channels without intérêt. So they resort to advertising.

Show original language (French)

Cordialement, Prelude

Disagree with your final sentence.

I’m willing to pay for this avalanche of pointless channels, but then it’s my choice.

In this case, we don’t touch the price of my subscription - a priori - and we allow ourselves to annoy me with advertising that I don’t care about at all and that I don’t watch anyway.

Whenever there is something to find to get people paid, we are excellent money collectors.

For those, like me, who are of a certain age and love music, we had to pay the copyright fees for each new medium even though the first time should be more than enough. It seems relatively insignificant, but overall, we are cheated and annoyed in our daily lives. It’s particularly annoying***
